lol, read what you are saying. I wasn't talking about goals anyways, i was talking about the ability to take on players, control the game, tackle and steal the ball from the opposition and to be an ultimate match winner providing great passes and scoring great goals. In all those aspects Rooney owns both of them. Too bad you haven't seen him play enough, because you really are missing out.

I watch almost every Man Utd game :rolleyes:

Rooney is much stronger and can steal the ball from the opposition more easily... i agree!

As for the ability to take on players and dribble, technique and ball control, Messi and Robinho are far better than Rooney... i hope u had the opportunity to confirm that... if not you're really missing out... :ewan:

Rooney is far more developed and smarter than both Messi or Robinho. Have you seen him play lately?

Rooney would make a better comparison with Carlitos Tevez both are strong tricky with the ball(not like Messi or Robihno tricky) good vision and good scoring ability. In other words Rooney is a diffrent type of player than Messi and Robihno.

Good then, we are on the same line because i have seen Robinho play a lot, who is actually older than Rooney and i saw a few of Messi Barca games/moments as well as the Youth tournament. If you are talking about controlling that ball and make some sick move to get past players and make them look like fools, then yes both Messi and Robinho are better than Rooney at that, but then C. Ronaldo is just as good if not better at taking on players one-on-one. However in a game those beautiful moves don't matter much, what matters is how you get the ball, what kind of things you do with it and how you control the game and for those things Rooney is many many years ahead of both, even though he is 2 years younger than Robinho and 2 years older than Messi. Neither of them can take the game of the absolutely highest level (international and derby level games) in their own hands and control the field and do unbelievable things, Rooney can.

Wayne is far more complete, effective and useful player than Messi and Robinho and you can't disagree with that, look at United with him and without him, take a peak at england games as well.



Don't go on with this Rooney discussion, because i really didn't want it to turn it into a Rooney with Messi/Robinho thread, just wanted to show that they are not the best 2 young players in the world.

I aint trying to start any fights here so I wont address people's comments directly, but I will say this. Whoever said Rooney is less of a talent than those two (binho and messi) is a damn moron. Rooney is a talent on the scale of Zidane, he just drifts out of games and is inconsistent sometimes, but he's fookin 19 years old, he has eons to develop even more, how good was zidane at 19?

Not trying to knock Messi, he's great(he's friggin fast too, fastest player i've ever seen) and Im not knocking Robinho either, but dont bad talk Rooney when you dont see and appreciate his talent/gangsta.

I honestly dont think that Robinho, Messi, or Rooney are talents on the scale of Zidane.:) Zidane ( at his prime ) is just too good for anyone in todays game.

I actually agree with you untouchable, I used to think Rooney was just another over-rated Englishman, but after watching him over the past two seasons I have really been impressed.

He along with Robinho and Messi have the brightest futures IMO. I think C. Ronaldo is a great talent, but I am not sure if he can become 'the next Figo' or something like that.

Maybe you're right, and i will not argue about that... but in terms of natural talent/technique, Rooney has to work very hard to get to their level, while they have it naturally... don't you agree? :)

ps: i'm not saying Rooney hasn't got natural talent, bcoz he has... and he's really good... but he's not at the same level of those two... he hasn't got that much talent... he's a hard worker, fast, nice technique and a great shooting ability... but with less effort, a guy like Messi can dribble an opponent and can control the ball very well... that's natural talent! Lots of it... :)
