yes, pretty old news, the MLS hosted 7 games to choose 2 new teams, the 2 cities that brought the most espectators would win, my city had like 20,000 people wathc the game, how many people watchd da game in Rochester?

they average is like 10,000 a game which is more than a couple teams in the MLS and almost double every other team's attendence in the a-league. If they go to the mls they'll get more from fans from rochester, buffalo, and syracuse.

the stadium keeps on getting delayed, first was the money, then location (originally it was going to be 5 minutes from my house now it's ten), getting grants from the state, taxes, then it was permits, and then finally we get that all done and are ready to go, so damn scientist find something and have to dig it up for a whole month. I don't know where we are going to get the money for expansion fee with this fast ferry thing we're getting. i think it would be better if they waited till 2005. I don't think the mls will like having an mls team playing on a baseball field with sod laid over the infield. The players said it a little dangerous but towards the end of the season they got rid of the turf and just played on the dirt. It saved them a good amount of money because it was expensive to lay the sod over the field. Also the field is really small, i don't think it is even regulation size for mls.

I doubt they can have MLS games in Rochester till they get a new stadium. However, if they do become an MLS team, they will need a bigger stadium than 17,000. If they can get 10,000 for A-League, they can easily get 20,000 for MLS.

Easily get 20,000 for MLS. Wishful thinking at best.

Yeah, besides, there is no need to overdue it. It would be better too play in front of a full house of 17,000 instead of having a few thousand empty seats or more. If they sell out every match, then maybe consider adding seats until then 17000 is fine.

Anywayz if Rochester can hit those numbers then it should definately join the MLS... and with Chivas (Enter US City Name Here) joining as well the league could go back up to 12:rockman: Hopefully even more join of course

Yup, it's great. I'm waiting for the day when Atlanta has an MLS team. I just wish they would "Europeanize" the league, and get rid of the two conferences. I don't see why they need to make it like every other sport in America.

It may change in the future, but right now they are trying to make the league as accessible and appealing, to the casual American sports fan, as possible.

here's some pictures of the future stadium

I wouldn't see why they would change the team. There hasn't been any news about changing the name. The fans here really like the name with fans groups called the rhino pit and the stampede.
