still awesome! why the f*ck is the guy not even trying to lose weight? with a decent level of fitness, he'd walk (haha (H)) into the World Cup team ... no way he's going to make it with that paunch though ... a damn shame ...

He still has that magic touch and skills. But he lost one of his most important asset: speed. He's getting even more fat.

He deprived the world of himself, perhaps the injuries got to him mentaly. Since I've been watching football for real (late 80's) He and Van Basten are without match in my book....I love them both...

If he had just kept his weight off, can you imagine?...a talent like him will not come around for a LONG LONG time...

He could even surpass Maradonna imo. He definitely had the potential. Shame about his injuries. He's still the WC top scorer though despite all that.

come on ... that's an old picture ... when he left Milan for Brasil, and before he made his Corinthians debut ... or are you suggesting that he's fattened back to that, uh, shape? coz I actually think he has (unfortunately) fattened up since last year ...

Maybe, I just thought the picture was hilarious.

Maybe that's an old picture, but I still think he looks too fat for a professional football player, even today.

Can't believe he has so much of a belly still. You'd think even with not much additional effort, almost a year of being a full time pro again would have burned off a lot of it.

Once this guy retires he will just become one big blob within a few months.

Great to see the bald head again though!

I think Dunga will never call Ronaldo unless serious injuries for his top players.

He picks useless Robinho and not in-form Dinho, I can't understand that.

Kaka stated in an interview, that he can't play with Dinho in a same team. Maybe that's the reason.

He's actually trying but the facts are:

1. Ronaldo is too lazy in terms of diet. I mean, he doesn't feel the need, the eager to be number one again. As a matter of fact, he really doesn't. It seems that only after realizing that both Luis Fabiano and Kaka aren't physically well, he started to dedicated a little more to physical trainings.

2. He lost weight. Yes, he did. He was looking worse early this season (January). He lost almost 6 kilos since he went out, 2 weeks ago, in order to treat a muscle injury. Last year, when he truly shone again playing the playoffs and finals of Paulista Championship, he was at 92 kilos. (not sure how much that is in pounds). He was still 6 kilos behind, so, right now, the ideal weight for him is 12 kilos away.

3. Ronaldo smokes, and since he's 'patrolled' here in Brazil, so much more than in Europe, that fact became widely known. And smoking yes, it increases the amount of fat plates over the muscles. He seems to have a thick and unbeatable layer of fat that is typical of those who smoke: a "sticky" fat if I may. He must drop it, close his mouth and dive into physical training. I'm pretty sure he'd be in WCSA 2010 so easily if he did it.

Indeed. But i have faith he's coming through this and lose weight enough to dispute with Fabiano and Adriano.

that would be excellent! because i so want to see him at the world cup ...

but you really think he is suddenly going to drop all that weight by the end of May? coz that's as much time as he would have to be named in the squad ... and judging from how obese (not just fat, obese) he looked that video of the Corinthians match from this past week, he has got a long way to go! I can't see him making it ... having said that, I can't tell you how happy I would be if I'm proven wrong ...
