Ronaldo plays with number 9 again

Morientes was sold so number 9 was free again.
Portillo will play with number 11.

Ronaldo wore number 11 for their 1st game of the season... doesn't that mean the squad numbers are final for this season and that he won't be able to change... I think so

I read an article with him saying he chose it because he is a fan of Michael Jordan.
If he said what you wrote; 'he' is trying to be funny.

I know Beckham says he is not very smart, but to play football, make speeches, interact with the media, oversee the great wealth he has, you "aint no dummy".

like what shearerm4 said, a number sometimes becomes part of a player's identity. when you think of ronaldo, you think of the number 9. they're interchangeable. same with beckham and 7. it doesn't make them play any better, but it's part of their identity.

EA Sport's FIFA Series is a good example, in some of the older games, It was very obvious who was called "Number 9" In Brazil/Inter etc. FIFA series may have been a game, but Number 9 is apart of Ronaldo's identity.

Personally i believe that the 9 suits him better. And he scored most of his goals in his career playing with it, so, if he has luck and plays well with it, why not?

yea its true he was interviewed by espn and he said he idolized michael jordan and he used that number to attrackt more american viewers
