Gigi had a genetic back problem also IIRC, they corrected it with surgery and he's fine now, even better than a season or two before it was corrected

Then again he is a goalkeeper and not an outfield player

Isn't their midfield packed already? Modrić, Isco, Illarramendi, Xabi, di María, Casemiro, Khedira (well he's out right now and god only knows what happens to him in the future) and so on..

A replacement for Xabi Alonso would be needed some time soon, since he's not getting any younger, but Rakitić isn't exactly that kind of a player, or is he? Plus wasn't Illarra brought in as a long time replacement for him? Since they have quite similar playing style, but the latter is still quite young and lacks the experience, but it will come. And Modrić can play that role too.

And there have been rumors about Pogba as well, but as usual lots of players who are playing well are linked to Madrid.

Mmm.. Does Sevilla need money that badly? I just checked and it seems his buyout clause is set at 40 million euros. Although some websites suggest that he could be available for peanuts indeed.
