He makes a good point there, interest in the sport shouldn't be affected by occurences like this, it doesn't affect the very sport itself, football is still football.

no damage so far only memory loss of the incident. he finally saw his kids today. i think he will make it to the World Cup....

Just an update.. They guy has gone home and the recovery process begins. He may not play again, but at this point in time... I truly believe that is the least of his worries.

He definitely won't play again. Rehab will not make him recover; it will only help him cope with the permanent disabilities he acquired as a result of the shot.
