Samuel´s Stadium Conversion Attempt

Hi guys, i have tried to convert stadiums, as you know we have got several stadiums in previous versions, and it would be a pitty if we aren´t able to get them in to FIFA10. I tried to convert this stads, by using the stadium conversion pack tool from SIDO, but i notice that there is something weird with the crowds, i would be posting the screenshots soon, to check on it

Hm, there is a way for importing stadiums from FIFA 09 to FIFA 10. I know one way, but is hard. You must to make the whole crowd in specific orientation(must be mirrored) you must to have new FIFA 10 template for base, and you must to know which tp.. is to which stadium part. Here the result:

But best thing that you can do for now is to wait for sido`s tool

Yes he found the right way, but I released in a few days my new Version of the Converting pack include with the right crowds and Home/Away/Neutral crowds ;)

I made the conversion with the 1st tool, but all I could get is the same described by Samuelkatalan.
Nevertheless, I exchanged the FIFA 10 textures with a generic FIFA 09 crowd texture and it works. Of course you've got the same generic crowd for every FIFA stadium instead of a coloured one, but it's much better than nothing.

Yea we need to make enphasys in this point, so that we can differentiate the crowds, and put them in the proper stands :D

If I would know exactly who to credit for them, I would do. I've got 200 stadiums from my FIFA 09 and I'm still not keen at the idea to miss them all.
If the problem is just to give the credit to the stadium creators, just tell me who they are and I will credit them.

By the way, all this matter about credits is, to me, a perfect nonsense.
No one of us "created" those stadiums!
Those stadiums were created by the architect and engineers and the men who worked to build them all in the real, which I think was a much harder work than to render the structure and the textures in a football game. Nevertheless, these real creators never had a credit for their job, and neither asked for from any of us.
It's quite silly that somebody's asking for credits as "creator" just to have digitally reproduced something created by someone else whom he never credited for!
Neither I would get the credit for my conversions. If there's somebody that could claim his/her own credits of the stadiums, these are their REAL creators, IMHO. If they don't give a damn about a digital convertions of their works, why should I care?

@hibee72: 100% agree. i dont know who made specific stadiums but the PES converted ones were converted by Soccercrazy,Madangie and atomikid (just check fifa07 forum). The italian stadiums made by fifamania and the german ones by fifa ecp/fifa4fans.

If we collaborate each other i am sure we can convert them all quickly.

But first sido has to release is tool.
After that i will for sure convert some stadiums.

I've got more than 200 stadiums from all over the world. Italian stadiums I am sure coming from FIFAMANIA, many stadiums come from FIFAECP/FIFA4FANS, many I got froma a brazilian guy named Guima. The Scottish stadium probably were released originally by Dusya. And some other I collected from various "superpatches" (RTWC and Champions League mainly).
I've got no problem to give credits to these guys but I don't want credits for the conversion. As I told before, it's a silly thing worth of a child.
I'm 37.
My only credit would be people enjoying playing with my converted stadiums.

so I find you must give the credits the author why he build it in 3d not you, ok a converting is a work but not so hard as the Building in a 3d prog.

You are so WRONG! Those who have really made the stadiums (engineers, architects and real workers) were paid very well to make that job and you can be sure that there is their signature in the stadium and in the projects of the stadium!
Instead those who made the digital reproduction made it for free and the least you can do is to give them credits (not money: only asking that you say: ok guys, I converted this stadium digitally made by "author") for their work!
Your words are really nonsense and could be applied to every field of editing. Should I give credits to God (or whoever anyone can believe to) for the sky before making sky Patch? Should I give credits to Nike or Adidas before using Keegan boots in my patches instead of giving credits to him (Keegan)? OMG! :icon_spin:

You've got the issue, mate.
Of course a huge work like a digital reproduction, especially of a complex thing like a stadium, is worth the credit to the editor.
But hey, relax, we're just talking about a football VIDEOGAME!
I respect anybody's hard work but every work is worth its price on the market. If you think your work it's worth some money, let's go for it and let's see how many people would pay.
I'm the first one to admit that some of the creations in the forum should be worth some money and your work has often raised the appeal for FIFA which, as it is released by EA, is nothing more than a decent football game. And this is something that EA itself should be thankful to you, because every year, thanks to your creations, FIFA gets more fun to play.
Nevertheless, I remember that when some time ago a guy asked to be paid for his superb creations, but he didn't become a professional FIFA Editor, and even though his creations were among the most requested on the web, he couldn't get a penny from that. Does it strike any chords?
Many "creations" are often samples or captures from the manufacturer's website. These are the basis of computer graphics, mate, but they have nothing to do with "creation" because you're simply reproducing something already existing that was not created by you. You may ask for the credit of your job and your efforts, and you deserve it, but you can't consider it something of "your own" and ask for a sort of copyright, as most editors do, because there's nothing of your own in a design of something created by someone else.
Do you think that if I play Michael Carlos*son's "Thriller" with my keyboard or the soundcard of my PC, could I claim it as "mine" and ask for credits? :browsmiley:
