Shows the difference between Spain and Saudi Arabia, especially defensively.

Pretty good match, I thought the Saudis deseved a goal.

:S

yeah 9 shots gainst 0 shots......they certainly deserved a goal......They're ****ty,their more ****ty then Costa Rica.I still dont wonder why Asia got four tickets, give two more tickets for South America, alot of quality countries with lots of players from the big leagues in Europe.

Thankfully Australia will be qualifying in the Asian zone, hopefully we don't have to see Saudi Arabia in this tournament again.

Sheva is such a classy guy. Wasn't selfish at all. A tie against Tunisia in the next game will put Ukraine throughhhhhhhhhh

at least some group is producing the goals, the world cup 2006 average is a pitiful 2.29 as of the end of this game, not to say the games haven't been entertaining. We've definitely had our fair share of great games so far, just lacking the goals. Still plenty of matches left to avoid the Italia 90 levels.

ROFL the Saudis we all know and love are back. Why did they bother to turn up, they failed to make one decent scoring chance. The thing is we know they're capable of playing some good football at times as they showed against Tunisia, but today they just bent over and took everything Ukraine had to give them.
I think they just have an inferiority complex when playing some of the bigger European teams, losing to one of the more fancied teams is ok just as long as you don't get embarassed by one of your 'Arab brothers'. I can see them getting royaly served by Spain. Rebrov's 2nd goal was my highlight for the day, I think Ukraine can bounce back and maybe reach the quarters of this tourney.

Even though Australia would be in the Asian zone, Saudi Arabia could still qualify without any problems. They were top of their group at the qualifyers and beat Korea Rep twice in the process... They are always impressive in Asia but suck at the WC :nape:

True. They're also more dominant at club level, where Saudi clubs have been collecting most of the tropheys in Asia.
And even if they aren't in top form, when you consider how Asia has so many WC places it won't be all that hard for them to make it. They only have to edge out one of: Australia, Japan, S. Korea, Iran and China.
And if they finished fifth you'd probably back them to get past the 4th placed CONCACAF team.
But their youth squads haven't been doing all that well lately (u-17, u-21, etc), so i reckon they're going to have a harder team enforcing their regional dominance in West Asia.
