Scolari offered the England job

FA apparently offered the job to scolari. I hope this is true as of all the managers in contention he seems like the only one apart from O'Neil (who doesn't seem likely to leave his ill wife, and rightly so) who could bring success to England.
If allardyce got the england job i would kill myself- by sticking needles in my eyes so i wouldnt have to watch that crap. and Mclaren should be getting slightly more stick for the failings of the current england team, being Sven's understudy.

Scolari's been whoring himself out the the English FA for a little while, which is absolutely disgraceful since he's about to lead Portugal into a World Cup. Just shows how much loyalty and dedication he has to the team he's coaching... I can guarentee one thing though, Scolari will not mix well with the English fans and media. Unlike in Portugal, the English FA won't kiss his ass just because he's Brazilian, my guess is he won't last 6 months there.

Hopefully this will mean O'Neill is Newcastle bound.

Oh and the way the FA have conducted the whole saga has been nothing short of a disgrace.

as I said before the only thing he is good at is at motivating. He's a lousy tactician and a very stubborn person, who only admits being wrong when he's at the end of the line.

As he doesn't even speak english, the motivating part will definitely lose it's edge.

One of the luckiest and most overrated coaches out there

If this is true I wish the English FA to confirm it so that we can fire him for confidence break before the WC and get a better manager in.

The man doesn't even speak English **** sake what is our football association doing?

Why do they have to go for the big name?

These foreign mercenaries are only out for the money. I want to see an England manager with a bit of passion for the job as the manager and first and foremost as a fan!

I'm only pleased from a Newcastle point of view on this one, as if Scolari is picked then the path will open up for other managers.

I don't doubt his ability as a manager, but I cant see him and the English team being a good match at all!

if he does get the job, and is still around by the next World Cup, then I already see England's group containing Iran, Canada and Venezuela

I didn't want Scolari as England Manager, hes probably one of the last people I would of picked. I think Big Sam deserved a fair crack.

$colari's a mercenary if there ever was one, the guy doesn't even watch Portuguese league games. He has no idea who's in good form and who isn't, he just calls the same players the previous coach did. I swear his whole time in charge of Portugal has been one big vacation.

Even if he does get the England job, as soon as like the Japanese or Saudis offer him more money he'll be off in a heartbeat!

EDIT: just read at record.pt that the English are in Lisbon currently negotiating with Scolari :| only in Portugal, anywhere else this the world this sh1t wouldn't be tolerated, ridiculous. Fire this prick now so we can at least have a chance at the WC, how can the team be motivated knowing the coach is only there for the money and doesn't actually care about the team? :nape:

totally misunderstood and mistranslated quote as usual.

He said it as a joke and what he said was that for starters Pele is black and Rooney is white.

Do you really thought Scolari thinks Rooney is near as good as Pele was? come on...

At the international level, the manager's job is more about motivation than anything else. You don't need to develop talent or anything like that. That's why some of the best international managers are terrible club managers, and vice versa.

You're right though...i don't see how he intends to motivate players who can't understand a word he's saying...he must be able to communicate somehow though (interpreter maybe)...how did he do so well in the interviews?
