scoring from crosses

ive had PES3 for a good month now, still no luck whatsoever on crosses. my players still cant even touch the ball when i cross it in (even with John Carew!!!) so what am i doing wrong? is there a button you press to make players rush into the box? or is there a certain time you press the shoot button, instead of insanely mashing it?K

try to cross in different ways
Circle (only) .... normal cross to widest player
Circle + Circle .... low cross to the nearest player in box
Circle + Circle + Circle ... low hard ground pass to your striker (like roberto carlos)

and there is no button to make your player rush into box, but you can set attack arrows for players in formation menu, which has almost the same effect.

also Circle + R2 = high lob cross

and L1+Circle = easier cross beause you can perform it from deep of pitch
works of course with L1+2xCircle and L1+3xCircle too

Ok so lets say my midfielder had the ball on his side of the half line and I see a striker streaking up the field. What should I press to lob the ball up the field, over his head, so he can shoot it on goal?

I would just try the overhead through pass L1 + triangle

You can control your players when the ball is in the air by pressing R2 + direction button(whatever directions you want him to go). I win a lot of headers by using this technique.

I always do manual crosses. I score much more with them.
