The new Maradona?
Well, I played a game with a couple of buddies over the internet. One of my mates did not join until our second season and he chose Napoli in serie B.
Napoli had signed a mediocre belarussian by the name of Sergey Nikiforenko.
He had scored a couple of goals during his rookie season but after my mate took over Napoli he started scoring in every game! He plays him as a supporting attacking midfielder (the old Maradona role). Napoli was elevated to serie A that season and Sergey was the best goalscorer in serie B averaging more than 1 goal per game.
The next season Napoli managed to clinch a mid-table spot in the serie A and Nikiforenko once again, but this time in serie A, averaged more than a goal per game!
In Napoli's second season in the serie A they became champions after beating Juventus in a play off game to decide the winner and who scored the winning goal? Sergey Nikiforenko. OFCOURSE!
He was announced best player in the serie A, best goalscorer, best foreign player and so on...
And this is where we stand today...
And "Niki" has averaged almost 1 goal per game during his entire career...
Totally awesome!

I recently signed him to Milan when playing a new game and even though his stats really suck he scored 4 goals in 3 games...
Is there anyone else that has had success with this guy?

i will try a shot at him. last time work permit was preventing me from signing. But i remove CM in annoyance because of the way teams score a goal just after i score.
i will edit the database and put him in my squad, to make things easy..then i will report back.

Yes it would really be interesting to see if more players could squeeze this kind of success out of him...
I use him as support man and he takes the penalty kicks...

I filed my report on Niki.
The player is an absolutely star when playing on continental level but a total crap in domestic competition.
On the 1st season Niki won 3rd in the European Midfielder of the Year due to his performance in the CL. He score in almost every champions cup game and did a hat trick in one.
Now this season the player had already 1 hat trick under his belt with 11 goal for 9 games.
his salary is $200 per week, i try to give him a new contract but he refuse...that's loyalty :)

Niki like to dribble and score.
So put him behind the 2 strickers...forward runs..run will ball..long shot.
He can score with both foot and he is the kind of scoring goal at minutes interval e.g 45 then 45 or 45 then 60.
in top matches he score early on then in the middle of the game and sometimes just to break deadlocks. in other words Niki will score goal whenever there is need to be and i will loads of them in game againt little teams.
Also niki is sensible to calf strain. i send him for physio, just to make him get rid of that problem which affect his career.
Never give him a contract unless he requested which hasn't happened with me, don't change his squad unless he requested. keep him happy.
put him in general training and nothing else.
The vital part is to trust Niki because he is the new King of CM

I don't know for earlier games but he is in CM 01/02.
He plays in Shakhter Soligorsk, as you can see in the player history above, when you start a new game.
First of all, when you start a new game, go into the game settings menu and make sure you have set the Database to "Maximum".
It probably also depends on which leagues you have selected. I know that if you are playing the Italian, English or Swedish leagues he is in the database. I am pretty sure that he will be in your game in every league if you use the "Maximum" database.
Try this and start a new game. He'll be there. And he'll score loads of goals!

Is Shakhtar S. in the Ukraine league?

If they are, that just officially makes the Ukraine the place to buy the best unknown players.

Shakhtar D. also has great players in 19 year-old Julius Aghahowa and 23 year-old Issak Okoronkwo (forget the spelling).

I'm going to bring Niki to my Roma squad.

bloody hell, I dont believe those stats like, some scoring record. I thought Kutuzov was going 2 be like that at Milan(though his skills are pretty good), scored about 44 goals in 1 save in the first season playing in the support role(couldnt even give Rui Costa a game cos of the formation I was playing) but next season he didnt play as well and I ended up selling him for about 18 mill(pounds).

Neil Mellor is some player as Ive also said on another thread, plays for Liverpool reserves and scores for fun(in the reserves anyway) though he did score about 4 in 3 for Liverpool first team when I had injuries. I knew he was good when I signed him for Milan and Liverpool asked for £190,000 + £70,000 after 10 caps.
scored 8 goals in 8 games for Milan reserves(have taken control of the reserves as well though).

I went to go buy Niki close to the end of my first season with Roma and I saw that he already transferred to Hertha BSC in Germany for 250k. Anyway, I went to see how much Niki cost now that he moved and he was valued at 8.5 million... He wasn't even doing much at Hertha BSC. Only had played 5 games with 2 goals after being with Hertha almost the whole season. I'm going to make a big bid here in the summer.
