This lad has left espanyol to join chelsea for pre-season.

1.) how good is he
2.) will chelsea sell duff in order to make space for him in their first team?

No, there is a bigger chance that they will sell Obi to Pompey, than Duff to anybody.

I doubt they can sell obi. am I worng, or is it FiFA laws that you cannot transfer a players registration twice in one summer? maybe I am wrong, but i thought that was the rule. If it is, they may not be allowed to sell obi.

That said, Duff seems to have gotten pretty bad over the last couple of years. The last i hearf, Bolton had contacted chelsea for his services. Mourinho may be wiling to do a deal with bolton? hmm.. possibly. with Robben, Cole and SWP ahead of him and Kalou able to play on either wing, Duff's use might be a worthless on for chelsea. U never know, but they may decide to cash in on him now.

duff 4th choice,is there something wrong with u,the front 2 are duff and cole and robben to be sold, ask most chelsea fans robben is worse then c.ronaldo for being inconsistant (hard word to spell) :gavin: but duff is one of the main men at chelsea and ireland if anyone is to be sold it is robben but more then likely sean wright

Duff is one of Mourinho's favorites and is Roman's favorite Chelsea player. He isnt being sold, and definately not to fat sam.

How would a teenager ever replace an international winger who had an off year? And since were talking about a Spaniard and an Irishman, why does it matter to Kaycee

Blueballa, I love to talk about any player. nationality or race does not matter to me. U might be a racist, but thats ur own concern, not mine.

dubcrazy, to put it lightly, u indeed are crazy. Robben is the number one winger at chelsea. I know he turned ur ailing club down and u are still upset. He is number one, Cole is second choice and SWP is third choice. Duff, to my belief, showed last season that he is not good enough for chelsea.

So explain why you hate England and the English race so much.

kaycee2g

I dont hate the English race.

I dislike the England National team. Just in the same way U probably dislike the german national team. the principal reason? I will keep that to my self.

I also dislike the English press becus i think they are very dumb. look at how they have attacked a 21 year old boy, ronaldo, and have practically driven him out of his job.

I also dislike English fans, most of them think their overrated team is the best in the world and most of them are hooligans. Every chance they get, they want to fight. i just hope for their sake, that they do not bring that attitude to Africa in 2010. trust me, Africans will 'F" u up, if u try that ish in thier country.

Also, the baltant hypocrisy English fans have irritates me. look at how the media and their fans are insulting zidane, yet they supported that criminal thug - rooney - who intended to destroy carvalho.

Outside football, i have no problem with England or English blokes. I would live with any of them in a heart beat. A roommate of mine was from lancaster. It is a football thing for me! i hope that clears it up!

Dear oh dear, for someone who hates the English tabloids you have really taken a leaf out of their book.

The biggest load of twaddle i've ever read on this forum.

I just confirmed that sergio is a scholar at the bridge and will not be a part of the first team this year.

Only if most of u were intelligent, you would have answered my question, instead of getting into a senseless sergio v. Duff.

Dont you mean you love to talk down on other races other than your own? Or specifically, talk down on the English?

I like to think of myself as a pretty even handed individual. I hate alot of football clubs, but I would never lower myself to hating a whole nation or their football team for my own stupid reasons. Sure, I prefer that some teams do better, but im not some malicious jerk. Though I have to admit that your brand of posting alone has almost driven me to hate Nigeria

Wow. Did an Englishman steal your woman or something? About as logical as the English media you so deride. You think I like reading their crap? Do you think anyone likes reading their crap?

As for your argument for why you dislike the English, youve got a real watertight case there.

Where to begin? Every group of fans overrate their team. The English, like the Brazilians, Argentines and Italians have a particualarly fervent support because of their connection to the games history, and the significance of football in those countrys. Would you rather they just mope and stop caring when an event as big as the world cup rolls around? That would sort of run contrary to the term "supporter", no? And this isnt the 1980's. English supporters are now tightly regulated and well behaved. Rather than relying on an archaic stereotype, how about going out and educating yourself through firsthand accounts of the amicable encounters English fans had with many other nations in Germany, and how festive the atmosphere was. The Germans did a fantastic job organizing the world cup, and full credit goes to them for the spirit of peace and competitiveness that we saw.

And if thats not a bad stereotype, how about assuming that Africans are going to take the law into their own hands in 4 years, rather than excercise the rule of law and authorities to control crowd trouble. I hope your not trying to say they are somehow more savage than Europeans, are you?

And what the hell is all that Zidane crap? Who from the English media are busting on Zidane for what he did? Responses are overwhelmingly pro-Zidane from everywhere but Italy. They defend Rooney because he is one of their own. They boo Ronaldo because, though many of them hated him already, he was involved in a frustrating incident that some feel doomed their chances of advancing. I, personally, find the kangaroo court of the press which has tried and convicted Ronaldo as laughable and distasteful as you attempting to knock down Manchester United's midfield to prop up the reputation of one of your own countrymen. In the very same thread you cited yourself as a Chelsea fan because Mikel has come here, and by extension made the rest of us, who have respect for our opponents look pretty bad. We dont need the bad press that arrogant and blinkered attitudes like that can bring

u are one sad person kaycee2g,and duff going is only because they was an offer put in for him and no one else was interested in the other 3 wingers, and blueballa totally agree with your post mate

No one else put an offer for the other three wingers? the good thing is that everyone reading will laugh at u. becus the truth is known by everyone.

This is what happened.
Chelsea said SWP was not for sale
Chelsea told Real Robben was definitely not for sale
Cole was offered a contract, which he signed
Mourinho said he loves Duff, but will let him go.

This is the reality. lying does not deceive anyone.

You guys claimed Duff will never be sold. i told u he wil, becus I knew about it weeks ago. I am sorry, but u were all in denial.

Wow. Just wow.

Your "insider info" didnt really take a mindreader did it?
-SWP is a 20 million pound investment we werent about to cast off after a year.
-Robben is 22 and we will never sell him (despite what the president of ANOTHER TEAM tells us he's going to do)
-Cole just had his best year as a professional
-Duff is the oldest and had one of his worst years professionally

So clearly my denial made me ignore everyone of these facts until this moment. By the way, how does signing a new contract, or having the club commit to you = other teams bidding for you?

As dubcrazy said, most Chelsea fans would agree that selling Duff was a mistake that was the wrong course of action. 90% is my estimation and that is no exagguration. I know this because I interact with blues all over the world. If it was up to me, and the vast majority of us, he would've retired a Chelsea player, but for some reason the club have decided skilled, commited, beloved players are not what this club needs, and foreign superstars are apparrently what is needed. Whatever. What do I know? Thats why I am the idiot who is behind a computer and people running clubs are making the big bucks

Now, Kaycee, I dont know how much you like Chelsea, but ive noticed this dangerous trend in some of the newer Chelsea fans. People who rate alot of the stars we have as "not good enough" becasue we're constantly being linked to superstars in the press. Its gone as far as people saying Lampard should be sold and replaced with Kaka because of last season (pardon me     ). Now for whatever reason, Peter Kenyon, an erstwhile intelligent football man (probably because he is a "new" Chelsea fan) thinks exactly the same way, and wants to get rid of anyone whose form dips for even a part of the season. Well I dont know how much of Chelsea you get to watch, Kaycee, but Duff was good enough, Gudjohnsen was good enough, Wayne Bridge was good enough, as were Gronks, Huth, Cudicinni, Scott Parker, Mika Forssell, hell, even freaking Tiago. And they all had heart which manifested itself in pride when playing for this club, its owner, its managers and its fans. Sorry to our current players, but I will take a Gonkjaer, a Gudjohnsen, or a Duff over Ballack, Essien or Obi bloody Mikel every day of the week, talent be damned, because I knew their veins ran with royal blue

or maybe im just in denial
