Several problems and questions about online

Hi guys!

First of all, to play online, does the other player have to have exactly the same version of the game?(that is to say same patches, option file, etc...)
Because I had installed Wolf's patch and I tried to play online with a friend who hadn't and we couldn't play.
Even with only the option file it doesn't work, although we both had it!?

Then I installed the official Konami patch (with the crack) and now I can't play online anymore with my friend, does he have to install it also?

yes. he has to install the official konami patch too. The wolf patch and option file doesn't affect it at all.
