Haha yeah I love that he has given himself 110% in one category, which basically implies that he is perfect at it and knows absolutely everything. Imagine how disappointed anyone would be that actually was stupid enough to hire hime.

I'm a bit disappointed that he hasnt tweeted in a week. But I am VERY excited for the stories of his trip to the Damage - I cant think of anywhere in the world I'd prefer for him to go on holiday.

Who would do this again? Start in August if we do it, after the Euros. If we do, I'd like to start picking on August 15th instead of starting signups on that date to finish as soon as possible when we all have pre-season enthusiasm.

I would like to play in the voting version but I have no interest in playing in the FIFA version. I've never done it before though so you would have to walk me through.

Just read the first post in this thread, Sir_Didier_Drogba!

And your team gets entered no matter what into voting at a minimum, and then FIFA and FM if they actually get done. You can choose to be an active or passive participant with your team, but winners WILL get declared. While I was disappointed with the poorness of FIFA's simulation, I'm still glad it was done and would like it done again. It adds some fun to everything, you know?

The one thing that I think we should change is the size of the squads. To get this done quicker I think we should only draft 18 players like in 2010. In an FM season and a FIFA Tournament we can take off injuries from round to round with an editor. I like drafting as many as possible, and 500 players is more fun than 360, but those last rounds take FOREVER and are not really necessary. However if there's a big demand we can draft full 25 man squads again. I would also like to incorporate some kind of blind voting, but don't see how it is possible. Because we ran into problems with voting last year I'm tempted to not do the voting at all, and instead spend that time editing FM13.

Definitely in and drafting 18 players sounds perfectly fine. I didn't use most of my players in both the voting and FIFA round anyway. There's enough margin to go for alternatives in your selection.

If I'm at Porto in mid-August, I'd possibly do the FM database.

FM in my opinion is the best way to determine a true winner. There were complaints and suspicions over both the voting and the FIFA phases, but FM is pretty impartial I think. Last year my ideal was to post a new thread every week with that week's round of FM games, and then post screenshots and highlights of all the important stuff that happened in the week. I think it would combine accuracy with being interesting. How heartbreaking would it be to lose to Xifio on a Zlatan thunderbolt in the 90th minute? Well this way you could watch that goal over and over again as you drink scotch alone in your home and brood. Tactics could also be submitted; I wonder if there's an online FM tactics creator.

I think the only real strength of going 25 players is that it DOES show off who knows more about what's going on in world football. Last year for example, in the 19th Round and later Nady took Kyle Walker, Andrei took Papiss Demba Cisse, and Coruja took Robert Lewandowski; all players who will undoubtedly be selected high this year after emerging as big stars this season. But for all of those players there are like 10 Rafa Marquez's.

Anyone who posts now will get the right of first refusal on a place in the Draft, just in case there's more than 20 interested.

I'm in.

And throwing out an idea..

The easiest way for a FM simulation would be picking 15 players. 11 starters, 1 gk, 1 defensive player, 1 midfielder, 1 attacker subs. Create a formation, with the help of the community for non-fm players, using the basic tactics creator. It gives you a list of generic player roles (e.g. Striker deep lying). Give all players injury proness of 1 in the game (lowest risk of injury). Use the four bench players as back-ups only for forced injury or red card.

If a injury or red card occurs you must replace them with the subs. All 4 bench players in total must be able to play all 11 positions (you will indicate who subs in for who.). This will be the basic rules of substitution or strategy (there will be no strategy changes) in order to make the person in charge of the simulating's life much easier.

To have every player 100% fit FMRTE application must be used to reset player to perfect fitness and morale status. This is easy to do. You open the program and search for the teams. Before every game you click load and click heal/motivate all players.

So far the summary of fantasy implications are:
1. You pick 11 players to fit a specific formation with no strategy changes.
2. You only use subs if forced to, therfore the 5 bench players must be assignable to all 11 positions.
3. The player's profiles will have 1 game-altering change: their injury sustainability will be made low, therefore do now worry about how often a player is injured in your selection process. But keep in mind stamina is still in full effect. The attribute natural fitness will also be kept
4. Things like fixtures and other details will be left randomized by the game, so we must be in acceptance that there will be a factor of luck other than in the actual matches.

In conclusion, the perfect blend would be a set-up with few "non real life" rules but also created for easy simulating.

The other large parts will be the selection process (which we've had experience with) and creating the database in FM. This will also be relatively easy (but time consuming). Pick a league with a good number of teams and rules we like, then assign teams and transfer each 15 players to them. First give them all the same reputation and then delete their finances, staff and stadium in order for ease in editing (it would take too much time to give them all equal seats/staff attributes etc..) and it is also good for random generation of info. Then we can change the team names and pick uniform home and away colours.

7 subs is better than 4, it allows differing formations for a long season, and better substitutions (assistants will be managing). Next, I don't think morale should be reset for every game, teams go through ups and downs in a season. Ditto for injury proneness. Players will be healthy for all games, but getting injured in a game will still be an issue. Fixtures can be controlled by putting the clubs in a customized league where games are played every Sunday, and only on Sunday, with no cup (or maybe a cup?). Players could all be retired from International Football as well.
