yeah right. "financial reasons" would be more honest.

why is it so hard to believe that he's actually wanting to move for family reasons? when he says he doesn't speak english and wants his son and future children to be able to speak english because his wife is american, is that not enough?

do you really think he would leave milan, where he is adored and so close to being an icon, just for money? it's not like milan is such a poor club and can't offer him decent wages. how much really would he be gaining financially by moving to chelsea?

He was offered the same deal that Chelsea offered by Milan. Same money and same terms and conditions. Milan said they would match anything that Chelsea offered. So obviously the reason for the move is not money. Roman and he are mates, and their wives are friends of each other too. What better place to learn English than England. Add to that the chance to be part of the revolution at Chelsea, and the challenge of the EPL. Maybe he also wanted a new challenge. Being in one team or one league all his life, maybe he feels like a change.

Its his life, and its up to him what he does with it. I dont see how its anyones business but his own. The same goes for anybody else.

Haven't you ever changed jobs because you wanted to? Whether it be for money, better terms and conditions or just because you fancied it? Why should a footballer be any different?

"It's a victory of the English language over the Italian language," said Galliani. :(

Carlos*ie: it aint for money. he's not Ballack.

BlueBalla: I'd be pissed with only 35M seeing as how Chelsea once had an 80M bid rejected :( and I doubt Torres and Crespo can fill the gap Sheva leaves behind. highly doubt (N)

exactly.

especially the last paragraph. i dunno..maybe a lot of people aren't working yet and/or don't have to pay their own bills and such. if that's the case, maybe it's hard to understand.

Looking forward to seeing a player of his quality grace our shores, even though it doesn't make for much of a title battle next season.

You're almost right Tom. Three years ago when asked if he was going to leave Milan, he did say " I'm staying at Milan, I don't want to go to Chelsea." He obviously meant he didn't want to go to Chelsea YET.

As for Ballack, I don't remember anything similar as regards him.

That Nice Guy

didnt Shevchenko once say he'd never join Chelsea? (ala Ballack) or am i making it up?
Ballack wanted to go to Madrid from day one. After that didn't work out he only cared about the money.

I clearly remember that Tom......... (H)

As long as players give us their best, I have no problem whatsoever if they come to Chelsea for the money. Players like Ballack are welcome whatever their reasons for coming.

From this article on the bbc website, something appears confusing...

Sheva not making sense

Shevchencko says, "I don't speak English, my wife does not speak Ukrainian - the only language we have in common at the moment is Italian. The only way to be able to teach our children our love that we have for them is the English language." That does not make any sense (unless they were/ARE being educated in an English speaking school, a fact that was not mentioned in the article). What were they speaking all this time...Martian? (6)

BTW, his wife's name ends in ik and not ak :nape: as they say.

then you clearly have no idea about the player in question

What kind of money grubbing whore who is only after the almighty dollar would sit with his team's ultras in their last home game? He had a look of mortification in all those pictures. I would've just been alot easier to sit at home on his leather furniture and light cigars with cash

I have a great respect for Shevchenko as a man and a human being, and I genuinely believe money is not what he is chasing with this move. He couldve just stayed in a depleted Italian League and won another couple of scudetti while living on a wage just as fat as the one we will give him. But I guess a cheap label and character assassination are much more convienent ways of going about it

Sheva was on the verge of becoming a legend at San Siro. He ****ed up his life when he met the blond bimbo Parzik and married her, she is more interested in shopping with Irena (Abramobitch's wife) in London and pursuing an acting career than caring about her husband who's heart is in Milan.

You got no balls Sheva, that's all I have to say. I will not remember you as a legend but as a traitor coward who left us when we needed him most. Take an example on Maldini and Baresi you lying bitch.

As for Chelski I will be short : You want to become the Harlem Globe Trotters of football by buying stars in each position. It doesn't work like that, you'll see. Real Madrid tried it too.

Also, I am following football for 25 years now and I am surprised to see Chelsea's fanbase tenfolded since they become successfull, says alot about the gloryhunters, I'd wish the headhunters would beat the crap out of you rich boys when you ever show up at the Bridge, lmao. (I'm not talking about Pede, I know he is an old Chelsea fan)

Senior Squad
Chelsea will have a great team. They were lacking a good striker and now they have it. They really look very strong now.

The only problem I see is that everyone expects them to win everything, and as soon as they lose a couple of games we'll see how they deal with it... apart from that, the team seems veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery strong

so...he's 2. there's not much dialogue with a 2 year old. but pretty soon, there will be a lot more, and if that family wants english to be the primary language, then what better way to have your kid learn english than live in england...
