I watched the first 3 minutes and just wasn't interested in some guy talking about his history non stop like that...

I'm making a short film this year, I'll post it somewhere if I get the chance... if it's any good of course...

haven't seen too many short films, the one that got stuck in my head is the classic Un chien andalou , i watched it after listening to the pixies' song "debaser" and i kept wondering what's with the "i'm un chien andalusian " lyric so i did a little googling and uhm...it was worth the effort

And so I went back and watched the first five minutes... sorry mate... It's not very funny.

The Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí one is very werid. We studied it in genre class last year. They made that film completely random like that just to see what the critics would say; it got really good reviews and the guys were doing it for a laugh. Personally I didn't think it was that good, but it was quite shocking really, which is what they wanted to achieve.

You should check out Ifilms, they have some alright short films. And IndieProducer have a comp. each year, the film's are not to bad there. It's good to get a general idea of short films.
