Should FIFA 09 PC be next gen ?

Ok, so this is a question thread. There is the question, please no off topic. I'll say my opinion now. I think yes. And EA must make it next gen. You know, PES 2008 is next gen, so this is the main reason, they have to make their fifa 09, or even euro 2008 next gen... EA've got no other choice, but to do it. You know, many people WANT a next gen fifa for PC, and that's another reason. So, I think those 2 are enough reasons from me, I want to know your opinion :).

Sure, it would be good to play fifa on "next-gen", but if it will be the same as previous FIFA games since 2005 or 06(?) namely, cheating cpu and so on...Then it doesn't really matter if you play the same sh!t on "current" or "next"-gen

This question is senseless mate. I have just told you, as other EA managing editers can confirm, that FIFA 09 will be developped mainly for PC version and that it will be of course next generation. And not the next-gen of PES, but the 10-times better next-gen of FIFA 08 XBOX360 with even some improvements ;)

EA stated before that Fifa 09 on PC will be next gen. Last year theey started using their next gen engine on the 360 but there were almost no leagues. This year they updated their engine and added all the leagues and teams to the consoles. next year, theyr will focus on the PC.

One thing at a time guys. I'm actually glad that this year's version is not next gen because my PC probably wouldn't handle it. Will need to upgrade next year.

LOL, I HOPE and I WANT it to be Next-gen, but if EA would make a next-gen PC game their sales would drastically drop (more than they have this year) because not many people could run it. (This is what THEY tell us, but it is utter bull$hit).

It won't be next-gen

Man, I run pes 2008 with my 3 years old pc on low perfectly :). Dont think it's going to be much of a problem . Many games want a better pc now :).

Yeah mate, I run PES2008 perfectly with my 4-year old PC.

But that is what EA said. According to them, you'd need a monster PC to run a next-gen footie game on it.

Is that (a) true or is it (b) bull$hit? I'll let you guys be the judge of that! ;)

I choose (b). Konami has proven that you don't need the latest tech to run a 'next-gen' game pretty smoothly.

it is possible to run pes2008 even on that 4-year-old pc but not that fifa08 simply because fifa08 is a truly next gen simulation football game. you can just feel that even on the current gen fifa08 now requires 30% more processing power just for its gameplay. some people just think that next gen is simply what they can see with their eyes only and they can accept it although the its gameplay is bull$hit ;)

But there would be less piracy and possibly a cheaper game?

Well, One friend has spent no more than 400 $ for a new PC (dual core processor, 1 gb ram, 256 video) and he runs Crysis on normal perfectly. I mean, that fifa wont need more to run it on high. So you dont need a "monster" pc...

Elhelmiey: I knew someone was going to say that we can run PEs2008 because it isn’t next gen! I was waiting for someone to say it! :amika:

Javyol: Come on mate, let’s be serious, EA will never lower the price of their games. And I don’t think there would be less piracy…

Ultra Blue: mate, I agree with you 100%. PES2008 proves what you said. But that is what EA said mate…you should tell THEM that you could probably run a next-gen FIFA perfectly with a 3+ year old computer…I never agree with them about that.

That’s why I said their reason for not having FIFA next-gen for PC is total bull$hit! ;)

Well, this year they said, that fifa's not next gen, because the engine cannot be written so fast, this might be the clue :).

Well that's their problem. PES managed to write their files in such a way that they took very little from the computer. EA has to do the same.

I think next year won't be next-gen either because there was an interview a while back. Some one from FIFA was asked if they will stop making form PS2. That guy replied that the PS2 still has a lot of life left...

There's your answer for PC as well, sonce EA considers the PC to be the same level with the PS2 ;)
