I'd do ether. I think supporting Man U would be worse for us though. '99 for me, obviously, and for Sir_Didier_Drogba it would be horrible cheering for a domestic side that isn't Chelsea. Maybe it's not fair though, and much harsher on him, so I'd so Barca as well.

For the record, the final is on the 25th next year, so you could go against Man U or Barca if they make the final. Maybe a year and a week would be a better bet?

Every poll I've ever seen has shown that Man Utd are the world's most hated team. Especially as Sir_Didier_Drogba is English, and Shifty is an English speaker, I think Man Utd makes the most sense.

Speaking of bets, when I was at the pub trying to make bets with my mate the other day, I made what I thought was a good call, and my mate got really offended. You guys be the judge (note we were drinking).

There was myself, James, and Daniel.
James is a good mate of mine, Daniel is the boyfriend of James' sister, but they get on really well as good mates.

There was just the three of us making bets about whose Rugby League team would finish higher.

Daniel supports a better side than James, and proposed a $50 bet on who would finish higher. James said, no way, that's unfair this season. Daniel said, 2-1, so I'll give you $100, you give me $50, on whoever finishes higher.

James said, that's still unfair, as his team is really crap that year.

I piped in to be the arbitrator, and said, how about 2-1, BUT aswell, if James wins, Daniel's gf has to give James a BJ....

James got offended. It was clearly said in jest, Daniel still refuses to comment on whether he thinks it was funny (he just says "no comment" which I think means he thought it was funny).

The easy way is to just give James' team a few points. So the bet goes by the number of points in the table +10 (or whatever, I don't even know if Rugby has points) for the lesser team.

Yeah, loads of easy ways to even up the bet, I just wanted to throw a sister joke into proceedings. Didn't go down like I imagined, but I agree he was just bunging it on.

Shifty, the bet is not fair, because Man U play in the same league as my team but not yours, so you wouldnt have to support them against your own team whereas I would.

Usually we're fairly good for self-deprecating humour. Scots, Irish and New Zealanders I've found are the best (in my travels), Americans amongst the worst as a whole. But us, and the English are both fairly good at it usually (we have to be, being convicts and all, and Poms have to be because of their international sport record).

But in this case, James definitely wasn't.

Sir_Didier_Drogba, I can't ever imagine a girl here punching me for that, if she did, nothing more than a punch in the arm. I think maybe she was just looking for a reason to punch you.
