No real offense to those 9 countries that were included along with the 32 qualifiers but I have to say that the decisions to include certain countries over others was poorly made.

Czech Rep. and Austria are valid choices (since they made it to the playoffs) but the exclusion of Romania and Ukraine is typical EU.
Finland and Greece from Group 9 makes it 4 of 5 teams from that group in (along with England and Germany)...which it shouldn't be.
Then you have The Swiss who finished 4th in their group (behind Yugoslavia, which should have been there)
You have Norway which also finished 4th
Scotland is ok...they finished a respectable 3rd...same with Israel which also finished 4rd

The fact that they put 3 4th place finishers shows that their is a strong Bias from EA.

On top of this, the fact that Australia is the only non European country (if you want to include Israel as Europe) is also EU B.S. IRAN should have been in the game regardless.

What it should have been:
Australia, Austria, Czech, Romania, Ukraine, Iran, Yugoslavia, Scotland and Israel (Netherlands, but we all know the deal with them).

Some of you might say that the reason certain teams were included and not others is because of licencing is once again EU garbage. If Romania have Yugoslavia proper Kits and players in FIFA2002 then they HAD the LICENCING.

Just look at FIFA2002 and you'll see an unfair bias towards us Slavs. Where are teams from Russia, Yugoslavia or the Ukraine?

If Anyone from EASports is reading this, why don't you reply and tell me why Slavic and Eastern European Nations are poorly represented in this and other EA FIFA games?

Hmm, maybe if "Yugoslavia" actually qualified they would be there, same as Romania and the Ukraine.

Maybe if more serbonegrins bought FIFA, they would include the country.

EA is a faceless corprote organisation that doesn;t giva a rats ass about it's customers, they simply dismiss EE countries as non marketable and their national teams as expendable.

Lucky, though, my team is in Japan this summer, and will be in every soccer game made this season :)

Finland deserves to be in the game. We've had a few great results recently we've thrashed Belgium 4-1, we thrashed Greece a whopping 5-1 and we thrashed Portugal 4-1 away. Finland's number two keeper Jussi Jääskeläinen was chosen as the best keeper in the English Premier League & Sami Hyypiä was chosen as the best defender in the EPL. Our number one keeper, Antti Niemi was chosen as the best keeper in Scotland.

No offence to you Eastern European countries but naturally teams from Scandinavia like Finland & Sweden, Britain & central Europe are in the game as because our countries are much richer there are more people who CAN buy the game itself.

I'm really glad Finland was included - I love their brand of football and I'm a huge fan. Born in Canada, but our national team has only once made the World Cup. Would have liked to see some of these other teams, though.

Yeah I think it's nice to have a change. Having Finland in the game is something new.

Reg Wright, Finland and Canada are very alike. Finland is the Canada of Europe. The nature in both countries is the same & we both watch & play a lot of Ice-Hockey.

It's sad for the Eastern Europeans that their teams are not in the game but money is what counts for big firms like EA & I full-heartedly understand them.

Finland is much better than the Ukraine at least. Finland tied 2-2 and 0-0 with Germany in the qualifiers and Germany thrashed the Ukraine is the qualification play-off.

Did they ever match against eachother, I dont think so (at least n the recent past). So until they do, dont post such comments.
What does it mean if Finland drawed with Germany and like you said trashed Belgium. As if Ukraine didnt almost make France miss the 2000 European championships.
Do you know that Ukraine has players like Sevchenko and Rebrov, they are a country that just didnt have much luck. They have been eliminated two times now in the final qualifications for the big competitions. Ones by Croatia and the second time by Slovenia.

And by the way I am not Ukrainian at all, I am from Slovenia, you are lucky that there arent any Ukrainians reading this thread right now.

What's up with this? This is my opinion & I am entitled to my own opinion as long as it's not offensive towards other people.

Talking about luck I think Slovenia has been lucky. Every good team needs luck and I think Slovenia is a good team. You don't have any big name stars but you play very well as a team. Zlatko Zahovic is a great player but he cannot be called a world-class star. In comparison Finland has two world-class stars in Litmanen & Hyypiä. I'd say that Finland & Slovenia play at the same level but I believe the Ukraine is not as good as we are although they have big names such as Rebrov & Shevchenko who is a world-class player. Remember that football is played on the pitch & not on paper.

I know you have a right to your own opinion and so have I, arent forums just the place to do that.
Anyway, obviously we have some diffrerent opinions but thats cool with me. I just dont think that if your country would match against Ukraine that they would win as easy as you think.

ooo come on! So, The reason why Bosnia isn't innside Fifa WC2002 is because my country is poor??? bull sh***! It's innside Fifa2002 and it was innside Euro 2000. So the EA just thinks:
"this season the balkan people are too poor and therefore can't byt the game, let's just take out their countries..." ????
They don't think about the balkan people who live in the Western part of Eu??? Which are STILL pround of their country??..... c c c c

What you're saying is ridiculous. Firms sell in regard to supply & demand. The demand of these countries is very low due to low real incomes. Why would people ONLY sell to Bosnians abroad. I know many Bosnians in Finland & they support Finland nowadays. I'm sure your life won't be destroyed if your team isn't in the game. Go insult EA & not me but don't expect EA to answer cause they never do. :D

Maniac from the looks of it you live in Oslo. Isn't that a very small town? Is it nice? I've never been there but everyone says it is very small.

I don't know who told u that the city is small but that is not right. it's quite bigg, we do have busses, trams, and a metro. It's the capital of Norway for gods sake! :D

Norway is like my dream vacation. I've never been to Europe or Scandinavia, but Norway (then Ireland) are tops on my list. However, I hear Norway is pretty pricey.

Have you ever read the Edgar Allan Poe story about The Maelstrom off Norway? Have you ever seen it? It's tops on my priority list, next to a visit to the Eric Mykland Museum of Midfield Wizardry (kidding). And I've got to get me a Viking hat emblazoned with the flag in time for World Cup 2006. Norway not making this year's World Cup was a criminal injustice, so I'll have to keep my heart stoked with the memories of Norway-Frazil in France 98.

jepp it's true! This is the worlds second most expensive country! Don't wory about paying for the tickets, what you should be worried about is how much to spend here! Let's just say that a glass of beer in a bar costs 13DM! while in my home country (bosnia) it costs 3DM... LOOL! :D

I think Finland is the most expensive country. Finland are at least the most expensive country in the E.U. at least.
