Yeah. It is a Gamecube that can play both Japanese & North American games without modchips, or anyhing else.
It's pretty expensive here, it's around US $200 -$250 for the retail price in some gaming import store.

That's what I know so far. There's a switch to play either Japanese or North American games. I really honestly don't know if it is modded. If you say so, O.K. then. They sell it legally also in Japan since they are both NTSC format.

Why would you want to get rid of your PS2? It's getting the most quality games. + If WE bombs on the GC (which it could), Konami will probably never release another version on it
I don't think it'll suffer playability wise. Think about it, it could easily be:
4 face buttons/same as PS2
Analogue R button for running, and the Rclick for R2 tricks.
Z changes player
L+Cstick/face buttons can do tactics.
I can't see anything that would be left out, or moved somewhere else?
I'd get rid of my PS2, because WE6 is the ONLY game it gets used for. I've got a load others, and it's chipped, but there's nothing out on the PS2 that i think will hold my interest. Not now or in the near future. Those that might will probably be multi platform, and if not, i think the quality stuff on GC/XBox (getting one before Xmas) will more than satisfy me. Splinter Cell anyone?

Personally, I think that the GC has next to nothing coming out or on the console. The PS2 generally has the best game in almost every genre/sub genre and the most, as well. Mainly personal preferrence, I guess.

To be honest, I have been a dedicated Nintendo gamer, right from the glory days of the NES, SNES, through the rocky patch that was the N64, and now with the Gamecube, i'm beginning to loose faith, and its sad.
there were so many assurances that loads of games would come out for the cube, and it would get all the major multi-format releases, but has this happened? has it f.uck.
I have had my cube since the launch day in europe, (may) and I have only bought 3 games for it. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Zelda etc, but one quality puzzle/platform game every six months doesn't really do it for me, they've got to pull there finger out and make a wide range of games, not the same cartoon based stuff too. Plus the news that Rare has been sold doesn't bode too well.
I love Nintendo and their quality and innovative-ness, but time is running out for them, and they'll go the way of sega if they don't watch it.

All the best Video Games are virtually exclusives, this is because that particular team can concentrate on one game on one format.
And iMHo this is the reason there are a lot of people bitching online with how little is updated in PES2, especially on other forums.

At the end of the day it will slow up the releases on the PS2 and these releases will have very little upgraded as the Japs lap every release of this game sold, and they are far more important to konami then the rest of us.
All Gc's will recieve is a standard Port of PES due to the fact Konami's profits are in the PS2.
This is not a bashing of the GameCube, I would just hope the developers dedicated all their time to one format, I would actually be happier if they took PES exclusively to the CUbe then Multiformat.

the universal gamecube ur talking about is the panasonic gamecube Q.
it is modded to play games from every region and can play dvd's, vcd's divx movies and mp3's.

where did you read it could do divx?
