I'm generally very much against remakes... There usually isn't a need for one.
The trailer for the new RoboCop looks horrid.... They remade Death at a Funeral for American audiences, about 2-3 years after the original.... etc..

If the original film was made in the 70's and before, maybe I could understand the "need" to remake it, but only if the version turns out good..

and with Ed Helms? I like him as an actor and all, but he can't carry a movie... and I'll be damned if he can come close to filling Leslie Nielsen's shoes...

The Naked Gun movies were great... not oscar worthy but certainly great fun, thanks to Leslie Nielsen's comedic genius.

I seriously hope they scrap this before too long... :/

I agree with this! Naked gun is one series you just shouldn't dare remake, specially with someone like Ed Helms.

Next thing you know, they're going to try and remake the "Back to the Future" Series

Leslie Nielsen is one of my favourites. He was a hilarious actor and also a very cool guy.

I'm no fan of Naked Gun or something, but it's a fact that classics should never be remade. Especially with a comedy/parody like it is. But they are after money like sharks are after blood so it doesn't suprise me at all.
