I think if any man deserve it, it`s Scholes. Even if Man U manage to get Ronaldinho. Scholes may be ugly, he maybe not as ellegant and fashionable as Beckham, but he sure give it all out there on the pitch. He deserve the legendary number.

"10" for most clubs is an important number. In Man U, "7" is the special number. Being given number "7" in Man U means you`re something exceptional.

I think in most clubs nowadays players choose their numbers in order of longevity in the team... but if #7 is a special number in Man U, then scholes should get it.

if kewell manage to be in MU then he should be the1 get #7...but Ronaldinho might be the1 too.....jz wit n c guys!

a number is not important.. but it becomes important once a superstar wore it.. even the famous #10 nowaways wasnt worth crap until a great player wore it...

Before Eric Cantona it was Bryan Robson(He was the captain of Manutd and was also named Captain Marvel) who wore the no. 7.

Any mid or att player on the usual squad should have #7. And if none of them want it , United's all-star summer signing should have it. Hopefully Ronaldinho

Forlan wears 21, #9 is empty.


Best wore the #7 shirt as well if I'm not mistaken, and Law as well for a time I believe.

Yeah #7 if one of the 'special numbers' at Man Utd. I'm not sure who should get it now, I'd probably give it to Veron as our most creative player because it seems to be linked with creativity, but if he'd rather stay as #4 then fair enough. Besides, it's just a number.

#9 should go to a new striker (Ronaldinho hopefully), unless Ruud wants it.
