After seeing the "top tens" of most of the posters in this thread, it's kinda obvious that most of you have never watched a game of cricket.

That's a suprise to you? I personally don't enjoy sitting down for 6 hours a day for 5 days to "enjoy" a game.

Re: Soccer the 10th hardest sport in the world??

1. Boxing
2. Ice Hockey
3. Football
4. Basketball
5. Wrestling
6. Martial Arts
7. Tennis
8. Gymnastics
9. Baseball/Softball
10. Soccer

1)Boxing,Wrestling,martial arts....one of the most ancient sports...very demanding

2)Ice hockey...also demanding on the body....but...one problem................LINE CHANGES...every 3-5'.....that is the entire team is swapped out every so often to give people a rest!

3)American Football.....oh please I had the misfortune of playing this sport on a semi-pro level for four years and believe me this shouldn't be #3....I played "ironman" -offense,defense,special teams.- and believe me its not demanding .....the only thing this sport does is damage people's bodies......AND you take a break for rest and water : in between each play, time outs-possibly 8 per game (if there is overtime), Half-time 10mins, injuries.etc

4)Basketball..players can be taken out and put in as often as they want

7)Tennis........breaks for players between sets and time outs whenever someone feels like it

9)Baseball......:fluffy: you're kidding right:fluffy: .....in this sport SITTING DOWN IS PART OF THE GAME.....
David Wells is one of top players.... :lui:
Kurby Pucket used to be one of the top players.....:lui:
.Arguably one of the greatest players of all time .....Babe Ruth....was obese....:lui:

My list to come....

oh wait a minute, its SG, its full of Biased people.

By the responses that i've read it seems that they only like one sport, football/soccer, so I doubt they even know about the others, understanding it and so on.

Come on people, you'd really have to be a sports fan(I mean by liking most sports not hating on others) to get an idea of whats the hardest sport, but when you only like one and hate others then your choice is easy.

No it's not surprising, but if many of you actually knew the game, your top ten picks would be alot different.

Cricket is the hardest game to play. As you said, "6 hours a day for 5 days" that says it all.

Boxing- yes, it probably is the hardest

Ice Hockey- Fair, skill is an absolute necessity

Football- As long as you weigh more than 300lbs, you can play

Basketball- As long as your 7 feet tall, you can play

Wrestling- Real Wrestling: True WWE: False

Martial Arts- Granted, very hard

Tennis- Non stop running back on forth, very hard

Gymnastics- One of the hardest sports ever

Baseball/Softball- What was ESPN Smoking?

Soccer- Should be 2nd or 3rd

1. RUGBY

Well, I am not sure I would rank it first, but having had a good look at the attributes they used, and the rankings assigned, I can only assume it was compiled by people who have no idea about the game.

First up, they rank Rugby behind rowing and speed skating :| in the STRENGTH category. :| :| wtf? Have they never seen a decent tackle in their lives? Have they never seen rucks, mauls and scrums? ffs, they must have been watching twelve year old girls playing to think Rugby players require less strength than speed skaters.

Same deal with POWER - Rugby ends up miles down the list, behind FIGURE SKATING :| , Volleyball and Tennis :kader: Again, have they never witnessed a Jerry Collins tackle break?

NERVE: again, how does a rugby player have less 'nerve' than an American Football player? I don't see no mass padding and helmets at the rugby field... whereas football players are done up like Michelin men.

HAND_EYE COORDINATION - again, behind American Football????? wtf, how many passes are made in a game of rugby, compared to football? And finally, analytical skills - obviously whoever ranked the sports have never ever looked at a rugby rulebook, defence and attack tactics, or quite possibly ever seen a game.

The list is bs. On every attribute I mention, Rugby should be way higher than they have placed it relative to other sports. And therefore should at least be in the top ten.

I hate baseball.. but all this people saying that it shouldnt be that high.. I dont know if I would put it ahead of soccer, I would put Ice Hockey #1, but I would like to see them trying to swing a bat at a ball coming at them 90mph.. see how easy it is.

If you've played anything beyond little league, you know that baseball really is a tiring game, though it may seem that the players are inactive most of the time. It's not as tiring as soccer, of course, but then again soccer players don't have to player several games in a row.

I do love soccer; it's my favorite sport. But I'm also a baseball fan.

How about David Wells? He's in terrible shape.

Well David Wells is a pitcher. He doesn't necessarily need to run.

Pitching is another aspect that isn't mentioned by anyone here. Pitchers have to throw atleast 70 mph pitches for about 100 times per game. Just doing that puts enough strain on your shoulders and arm. So that's part of the reason why Baseball is up there.

yeah true, but I figured most of us would be sports fan, not just liking one sport.
