wikipedia is blacking out its site for 24 hours to protest the legislation, and how it will pretty much destroy fair-use and the ability to publish any sensitive material to corporations/governments. It won't just affect the US since it will force Internet Search Engines to remove sites SUSPECTED of containing at least one page of material from their search registries worldwide.

This country is so ******* stupid. It's much worse now than it ever was under Bush, which was worse under Clinton, and so forth, and it's only getting worse. I'm seriously considering leaving.

First came across this quote after Poker's Black Friday. Thought it was well-fitting here as well.

I dont get what's so bad about this legislation? Seems like combatting online piracy is a good thing to me, it's ridiculous how widespread it is. Of course, I havent actually read the legislation.

Shifty if you want I am happy to swap passports!

lets just think about what might happen if this legislation does get passed... maybe it might spur creativity? we might find new things? i know it's bad, but every cloud has a silver lining

I wonder about the ramifications for us editing our beloved soccer games. What about us editing FIFA/PES? EA/Konami could shut down the whole of SG just for sections where we talk about making programs/mods to edit the game.

It could basically shut down any and every Forum about anything where that coild be content that is copyright infringement.
