Sound problems with PES 3

I am experiencing problems when I have the sound on in Pro Evolution Soccer 3. Firstly the sound crackles a lot and secondly I believe that the sound is slowing my game down. The reason why I think this is because I played the game with no sound and it played better. Therefore does any one have any ideas on solving this problem other than downloading sound drivers as that hasn't helped.

Here are my pc specs

2.7 ghz intel celeron
1gb Ram pc2700 drr
Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, what sound card you using? On-board Sound card?

Try adjust the "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level".

Open "Start" menu -> Run -> Type "dxdiag" -> Press "OK". That will bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Go to "Sound" Tab. Below the "DirectX Features".

There is 4 options you can try: (form Left to Right)

- No Acceleration
- Basic Acceleration
- Standard Acceleration
- Full Acceleration

Friend of mine using a stone-age sound card and got the similar problem, so he changed that to No/Basic Acceleration, then problem solved. Hope that help, anyway that is no harm to try it first, you can change the settings back to normal if not work, Good luck :)

I am using a Sigmatel sound card and the problem with the sound hasn't really been solved with the suggestion you just gave. I dont know whether you have heard of Sigmatel however I just going to let you know that I have a packard bell PC so that may give you a hint of whether its on board sound card or not. Then if you have any other ideas of how to solve this problem post it as I will appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the final patch that they released? It takes away the chanting/singing- which helps people with lower-spec PC's.

Oh that patch, I already have that patch and it still isn't right. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Its almost certainly a driver problem. In fact, the exact thing happened to me until i installed the newest forceware drivers. Install the newest version of ur mobo drivers, not just the sound driver. If it still wont work, try installing older versions of the sound driver. Maybe try reinstalling the game too.

I have the latest drivers for my pc and there is only one driver available for my sound card. I really think it could be my processor that is the problem. I don't think its the sound card to be honest.

On the reverse of the DVD case, it specifies that a P4 1.5GHz is recommended, but the minimum is a PIII 800MHz. Have you tried changing the graphics quality to 'medium' or 'low' (start>All Programs >Konami >setting)? Your processor might only be a Celeron, however it far exceeds the power of a PIII 800.

I suppose it is possible but very unlikely, i cant see how the cpu could cause crackling in a game. But a driver problem could cause slowdowns. This problem is only with pes3 yes? And u have installed directx 9.0b?
Assuming the answer is yes, its surely either a problem with pes3 itself (i doubt that) or a problem with drivers so i suggest contacting whoever makes the sound driver and letting them know of this problem so they can release a fix (they will do this if u ask)

I have just ordered a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX External Soundcard as I believe it may solve the slow downs in pro evolution soccer 3. I think it will solve the problem as the onboard sound I have now must be the cause as when the sound is off the game works perfectly. Please could someone say whether they agree with me and if so why are you agreeing or disagreeing with me.

Thanks in advance!
