Specifications, good or not?

Hi guys, i want a new pc, my brother compiled this list, now all though it only has prices on i was wondering if you guys thought this MIGHT buy me a good PC, or do i need more stuff on it (e.g. to spend more). and i KNOW its a bit vague.



Approximate Hardware Prices (excluding VAT) based on prices at aria.co.uk

Processor (Athlon 64k, 2000mhz CPU speed): £80-100

Motherboard (64k compatible): £50-70

HDD (SATA, c.200gb, 7200rpm with 8mb buffer): £60

RAM (Corsair DDR 512Mb): £65-70

Graphics Card (Nvidia): £50-65 (could be considerably higher)

DVDRW: £40

CD-ROM drive: £10

Case: £30-35

Keyboard/Mouse: £20-30

Speakers (with sub): £30

Does not include monitor, Windows XP or any other software

Total: £435-510

Total including VAT: £510-600



what i mean is does that sound right or would you spend more on something?

It's not bad but i would buy a decent Radeon card like the 9800pro.

add a sound card with EAX for gaming, get a decent Nforce 3 mobo, get a better gfx card (coz the FX5200 that cost the money u want to spend is actualy slower than ur Gf4 Ti) and get the 3200+ not 3000+

200 gb? do u really need that much HD space?

why dont u get a smaller HD and get more RAM, and better graphics card

you dont mention mobo. No matter what u do get a very good mobo. btw the amd one looks better to me. Should be quite easy to o/c too
