Speeding up saving on FM2005?

Hey all

Saving is getting a bit slow at the moment. Not a problem with the PC (3000+ Athlon 64, 1gb RAM, 6600GT, 160gb Seagate SATA) but its just the sheer amount to save - my game is 300mb. I remember on CM4/CM0304 you could delete the match.pkm files to make saving a lot quicker - can I do the same on FM2005 by deleting all the ms_(number).pks files?

edit: never mind, found out myself, you can. speeds up saves a fair bit too.

yes you can.

Another thing u can do, but probably wont, is get another same 160gb Sata HDD and have it work on raid with the other drive as one

Don't feel like splashing out £60 for a minimal boost thanks. Although maybe 2 raptors in RAID may be quicker

The Seagate one is great, its very quiet, and supports NCQ

Saving times improved a lot since FM now. In the CM4 series I would have save times of 5 minutes after a few seasons, even now it's less than a minute even after 10 seasons (that was with only 256mb RAM)

Where are these files located?

And does this affect the game besides speeding up the saving?

nope. Its basicaly the prev match files, so if u remove them u wont be able to see goals etc

So if I delete all the ms_(number).pks files I won't be able to see goals during a match? But that's the whole fun

No i think it's the goals in the other the games, the highlights i presume?

im pretty sure you have to do this once your game is loaded right? because dont they load with the saved game itself?

load up you FM game, once its loaded minimize it and its somewhere in one of the folders, id do it now but i havent got FM installed.
