Boavista lost their title hopes with tonight's 2-1 loss at Benfica. That makes Sporting Lisbon the new Portuguese league champion.

Oh well, I guess they deserved the win. João Pinto and Mário Jardel (40 league goals so far) han an amazing season, Mr. Boloni leveled all the egos, built a team and even got time to launch a couple of young, future stars in the starting 11.

Congratulations to Sporting, then.

In the middle of the celebrations, Jardel was asked about how he felt by scoring 40 league goals and still not being called to the Brazilian NT. Almost crying, the striker shouted:

"Não sei fazer porra, mas sei fazer gol!"/ "I can't do sh!t, by I score goals".

err...anyhow, congrats to Sporting, good to see Joao Pinto still has some skills, I was one of those who thought his career was nearly over...

INFESTA or anyone... could you explain me those "Será... (...)?" Jardel always shows after scoring a goal? I've seen a lot of these "Será... (...)?" messages and I just can't get them!!

Well, it all comes down to advertising. One day, after scoring a goal, Jardel lifted his jersey and you could read "Porque será"/"Why is it" [notice the grammar mistake? It should be "Por que será?"]

Everybody thought that was a phenomenal idea, because he was either asking why Felipão didn't call him p to the Brazilian NT or why he scored so many goals. He got a lot of media attention, even at an international level, due to that one.

Turns out to be neither, because in the following week the shirt said "Será do Guaraná". He was simply advertising a new drink (at least it's new here), Guaraná. It all made sense because at the same time there was this massive tv commercial going on, where they sang "Por que será? Será do Guaraná?"/"Why is it?/Is it because of the Guaraná?".

but now i can't understand it: por que será O QUE?? maybe due to differences between BR portuguese / POR portuguese, i dont know why I cant understand the portuguese message. or i am stupid and i cant understand my own language

anyway i think you may know Guaraná is from Antarctica, and Antarctica is the Brazilian NT sponsor. I read once Antarctica took Portugal as their next target. BTW INFESTA have you drank it? I like Guaraná very much.

some ppl used to say Romario is not in the team because his sponsor is Coca-Cola...

Oh, I love Guaraná! Much better than all those Coca-colas and 7-ups, imho.
Everybody, next time you go out at night and you don't feel like drinking alcoholic beverages, ask for a Guaraná. It's cool and has an excellent taste.

Well, I think I've answered that before. He asks "por que será", meaning "Why is it?". Here he's refering to the reason why he scores so many goals ("por que será q marco tantos golos?").
Then he has another shirt explaining why: "Será do Guaraná?"/"Is it because of the Guaraná?".
