Squad Needs More Depth (?) Help!

Right ive been playing Man United for around 6 seasons now with great success, namely 4 premiership titles and the champions league. Anyway just recently most of my star players are Unh saying that "the squad needs more depth". ANyone have any ideas what I can do to sort it out? Morale seems to be dropping too with a few dodgy losses at Derby and stuff

Forgive me if im being a tard but I just cant work out the best and fastest way to sort it out before the Champ league

With regards to squad depth, you need to go out an dbuy more players as backup for your starters. If you've started losing to inferior teams, you might want to shuffle your squad around a little bit and drop the players that are underperforming. For example, I'm close to ending my fifth season for United and my midfielders are:
Ryan Giggs
David Beckham
Pablo Aimar
Joe Cole
Jonas Lunden
Andres D'Alessandro
Bojan Djordjic
Darren Fletcher
Rui Costa
Roy Keane(DM)
Ivan Gattuso(DM)

So, if any of the midfielders underperform, I can always replace them with someone else who is just about as good as they are. This squad depth also helps when your players start getting injured near the end of the season(I've already lost Giggs and Aimar for 4 months with injuries)

If I don't have too much money and want to give my squad depth I always buy swedish players since they are so cheap.

I played MU for 20 years and in the case, your stars asked for more depth, i usually :

- buy some cheap french players (bordeaux, auxerre...)
- buy some 33, 34 years old good players which will not play really any game but my team always have been happy.

It is true that Bojan Djordic from your reserve squad is really good.

I think its a hell of a floor in the game, when it says lacking depth. I mean hardly a good thing when yer want to keep wages down and allow your young players to get a game.

Assuming you have a 4-4-2 formation, you'd need about:
3 or 4 gk/s
7 or 8 defenders
4 or 8 midfielders
4 strikers - 3 if you have a (or more) am/f or something.

Or maybe it's just me, I always get large squads .

I think of it this way:


I spend money on 2 good players when u can buy 1 great player

or ask for better youth investment to your board
that way you can get some really potentially good players

Yes after a few seasons he is very good. I got him from Man Utd as part of a part ex one of my best peices of business recently

Try sending your scouts to places like Greece and Sweden, usually brings up some decent cheap players to beefen up your squad.

You get loads of kids who have a fantastic future

not only Sweden the whole of scandinavia can be quite good for young talent i like the scandinavian players

yeh plus theres this bosnian/norwegian called Eldar or Elder Hadzimehmedovic check him out hes very good for his age
