status of Champs League/UEFA cup

I heard a rumor that CL and UEFA cup were not available in season play. This didn't make any sense to me when I heard it; can somebody please clarify this?

i think, but i'm not sure, that in career mode CL and UEFA cup are present with other names because of the licences issues. you can't play this competitions outside of the career mode like in fifa2003.just that.

as long as they're in season play, that's fine with me. When I heard that rumor, I thought that if this was true, EA has definitely lost their collective f***ing mind!

so then, what if you take over a team that would be in CL or UEFA play in reality this season, are they not already playing in the European tournaments by default? If not, who the hell is? Is it like play in Europe doesn't exist for anybody in the first season and then all of a sudden, boom, there it is for the second season? hmmm....

You guys must be pretty stupid if u can't figure out that in the 1st season, your team misses out of the european cups to make you try that harder to qualify next year. So the european competitions DO EXIST in the 1st season, just your not in it! Then if your someone like Man Utd, everybosy moves up in rankings becuz u aren't allowed in europe the first season. So Everton would move up a european place to be in the Champions Cup instead of the EFA trophy. See what I mean??!!!!
