still slowing down on penalty areas with radeon

this game really started to piss me off. I've purchased a new gfx card (radeon 9600xt) to play better, but it's still slowing down when I get closer to the penalty areas. I've tried every combination of patches and compatibility modes, every resolution including 640x480 - 1152-864 with every detail level, every color depth with every option of antialiasing and anisotropic filtering (except turning off because ATI catalyst doesn't have an option to close them down) and it's still slowing down when closing to the penalty areas. that's enough, the magnificiency of the gameplay is not magnificent enough to persuade me playing with that damned slowing downs.

I just wanted to shout out louder to calm down but this doesn't mean I won't listen any suggestions. anyway I still have a hope, because I don't think the "low detail" setting really works for me hence it does make no difference, I'm playing with the same graphics with both high and low settings.. I think something overrides the game's settings file, this may be ATI catalyst, I've closed it down and tried again but no difference either. some other program or something with the registry may be, I dunno.

I know there are millions of thread related to this but I've only found one related to radeon 9600 card and I think the author of that thread doesn't know so much thing about this subject. he suggests to install official patch 1.30.100 but backup our original pes3.exe file and then replace it with the patched one. so we do nothing, the only thing that the patch does is replacing the exe file. (by the way the word "crap" is invented for that patch. it enables double speed when fps goes down by 50, just annoying!)

=\ Your CPU shouldn't be a problem (because of being a Celeron I mean) 'cause there's people running it fine with Durons...
I don't know, maybe... formatting? =S 'Cause it's really weird having that video card, and having 20 GB used in 6 days? You've must installed too many stuff (or ****) :P

Close every program you have before playing PES3, take off anisotropic filter and Anti-aliasing stuff (disable them), put your videocard on high performance instead of superior image quality (at least on GeForce 4 you can change these stuff), try lowering your hardware sound acceleration, or try running windowed. My friend told me that on his mate's house when he tried running the game on Full Screen he got perfect bullet time whilst when trying to run it windowed they got a good fps rate. You should try doing that, or put 800x600 res on high quality, and if you get turbo-mode (things get super fast even without double-speed) try raising image quality on your graphic card setup or put anti-aliasing to 2x.

PiPENO only 1 GB of that stuff you mentioned in your last words, others are clean :)) my soccer video backups and so on.

my previous gfx card was geforce4 mx460 I know I can close aa and anisotropic filtering on that card but I can't do them in ATI (or I don't know the way to do it so if anybody knows, please help). I've set every parameter to high performance, run in 640x480 even and it was still slowing down in penalty areas. I don't want to use double speed option it's not a good way to do it I think, and in windowed mode my vsync doesn't work and lines began to cross from up to down which is annoying as you can guess. and when I run the pes3.exe in real time priority, it crashes. also, no other program is running in the background, only cthelper.exe and ctfmon.exe (rather than system programs). I'm even unplugging my adsl modem and sidewinder precision wheel from usb and ejecting my cdrom and cdwriter so as not to annoy kernel32.dll :Pp. but slowing down still occurs :-puke:

heellpp :fluffy:

one thing u havent mentioned trying is fiddling with the sound, go into dxdiag, and set sound acceleration to basic, see if that halps, what sound card btw?

turn the in game crowd to neutral too

try vsync on and off see if that helps

well I'm using a creative labs soundblaster live 5.1, with 2002 drivers (that's the newest I think it seems creative labs does not waste time with that card), and nick as you said I've set the acceleration to basic first, did not helped, then set it to no acceleration (I didn't know what it does now I do :) ) and standart respectively, none of them helped. also I've observed my fps with FRAPS, it degrades to 45-50 when I say I'm confused. if it's normal I mean if everyone has this problem, then I apologize for my outburst, but It's not normal I think. also, how can I turn the ingame crowd to neutral?, there's no option for it as far as I can see.

and jim, I know the display properties of ATI catalyst allows me to adjust my AA and anisotropic filtering setings but it does not allow me to turn them off. I can only set each of them to 2x minimum. I cannot turn it down. by the way if anyone has heard about a program that allows me to override my settings for ati, like rivatuner for nvidia cards, I'd be glad to hear.

biker it especially affects my shooting, it's not too slow and it doesn't last too long, just for 3 secs I know, but it becomes annoying after a time and causes overpowered or underpowered shots. and masterm or misterm whatever, if the game is playable with constant 60 fps in central areas and slows down in penalty areas, then there must be a reason of it and of course a solution of it. and you can settle down with slowdowns that's a thing that I don't care, but I will take my chances and ask it to people. if someone knows the solution and shares, then maybe you can also take the advantage of it and you (we) needn't wait for PES4 and play this game smoothly.

and who says we'll live long enough to see PES4.

theCRO maybe you're right:)

ibo you're offering me to play without sound if I haven't got it wrong? the last game I've played without sound was aladdin in 1993, cos it's pc speaker effects were causing headache. there must be another solution.

Your problem is that damn SB Live 5.1.. I have the same, I also get slowmos near PK boxes, and it's all due to my sound card.

you sure it's all because of the soundcard?. if yes, purchasing an audigy1 would solve that?. audigy2 seems way too expensive but I can get an audigy1 I think. I also have an onboard sound card. will it be useful?

I don't get slow down, but was lead to believe anything over 30fps was fine?
However back to the point, why not try disabling the card and seeing what happens? I use onboard sound and it seems fine.

i am playing without sound for months now :)
if i enable sound i got bullettime..:( my specs: P4 1.8Ghz 384MB SDRRAM, Geforce4Ti4200! btw: the DEMO runs PERFECT constant at 60fps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!damn fullversion!!!!

my recommendation for you: take your live5.1 out of your pc and enable onboard sound instead..

biker and ibocum yes you're both right the problem seems to be the sound card. I disabled it and the game runs smooth, perfect indeed even with 4x AA and 8x Anisotropic filtering in 1152x864 32 bit. I'll enable my onboard sound card. I'm trying to update my creative drivers but the newest drivers are from july 2002. there should be a newer driver version but I don't want to search them now, I just want to enable my onboard sound driver and play the game :) (I'll be accepting any info on driver locations that's a lazy period of my life :) ) (not creative.com of course I've already tried it)
