Note: I am a Big FIFA fan and I don't take pot-shots at it
I don't know if any of these have been addressed; I doubt all of them have.
- Keeper's tendencies
* Everyone who has played any FIFA games has seen the keeper make an "Acrobatic roll" or dive at a ball when absolutely not necessary. A simple "pickup ball" action would be more realistic
* This is small, that I noticed in 2002, when the keep is about to stop a long ball he should face forward instead of doing a 360
* I'd like to see AI beefed up a little and for a more unpredictable deflection scheme. I mean, if the keeper tips the ball straight up in the air it almost always goes behind the goal in the same fashion
* Not exactly keeper related, but the ball hits the woodwork an AWFUL LOT, somehwat unrealistic, it is rare (as I know everyone here knows)
- AI's defense
* Beefed up AI. I would like to see a better defense. I'm ready to play a Football Sim (or any sports game for that matter) that I don't end up winning (yes on difficult levels) games 7-2 or 12-0. When the "difficulty" is raised the only major change is the aggressiveness of the AI. Actaully, World Class is VERY unrealistic, it is just completely way to aggressive. I'm not saying this because it's hard it is just not very realistic to see 3 strikers attacking a keeping possesing the ball alone in the box
* This almost contradicts the latter, but not really. The AI almost never fouls, I mean very very rarely the will foul and get a yellow, and once I saw a red card drawn. I'm not asking for ridiculous aggressiveness, just more realism.
- AI's offense (its not too bad)
* Realistic Scoring. I havent had the problem of ALWAYS getting scored on off corners but many have. I have been scored on a good bit off corners, little unrealistic.
* Long Shots. Van Nistelroy (sp?) is bad, but he's not that bad. I get scored on from Half a few times to many (well maybe mid half).
* Slide tackle one timers. Ya these are cool, they happen a bit too often for realism. I don't complain because it's "hard," really its difference of winning 8-1 or 8-4 just want realism
- Ball Physics
* Increase ball physics accuracy and the dribbling dilema (sticking to the foots) and I'll be happy
- Misc.
* I'd like less emphasis to be put on slide tackling. The reaction time after slide tackling is unrealistic. There could be a little more variety of defensive moves other than slidetackle/shoulder tackle. At least variation in the movement depending on different factors.
* Air Balls. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but there seemed to be a LOT of air play, like sometimes I feel like I spend 5 minutes heading the ball back and forth, then scissor tackling the poor guy who decides to trap the ball, (while hoping for no foul) and scoring on a one-on-one.
* Some different aerial moves would also be nice.
Well these are just my thoughts, hopefully it is not too late in the stage of development to incorporate some of these ideas.
