Superstar Mode for FIFA 08

- You begin by creating a player profile (position, nationality, appearance etc.)
- You could then take that player through a series of training excercises. Based on your performances in those excercises your player would be assigned specific attributes
- The player would then be approached to sign professionally for various teams (the better your performance in training, the more likely you would be scouted by a high profile team)
- The superstar mode would include off the field things like buying and living in an apartment..I know that the superstar mode in Madden includes an apartment and you can take you player to places like tatoo artists and barber shops to alter your appearance
- Once your player has signed for a team, he would train at that club and fight for a 1st team place or play in the reserves
- You would control that specific player in games
- Obviously if you perform well you could be offered a contract extension or be approached by other clubs
- Your salary would also increase if you perform well, allowing you to move into a mansion, and buy better cars etc (like in Madden)

Generally i like this idea, especially if good performance lead to additionally playing in the national team, too.
But those two points above i really really despise. Better cars?! tattoos?! hairstyles?! probably also dating super models? the better you play, the bigger her breasts?

Some of it sounds a bit over the top, but in principle I really like the idea! Plus its only one mode - the other usual modes would still be there, so no1 has to play it if they don't want to!

Well it's not really like some of u think. In Madden u start in ur apartment. Then u can choose if u want to :
use the computer (check ur fan page and stats, the teams, standings and endorsements),
the mirror (change ur appearence),
the schedule (check what game is next or training and fast forward to that day or simulate it, interviews and movie shoots),
the map (go see ur agent, training, tattoo parlor, hair salon),
or just change the settings and save the game.
As the years go by if u get better contracts and endorsements u will get a bigger apartment and eventually a mansion. But u still can only choose between the stuff i wrote above.

i'm all for it, i think it would be a refreshing addition to the series. but i wonder how difficult it would be to implement. i've played that kind of game before in 'championship soccer' and it worked well. surely ea could add it as an additional mode?

It is Kind of like the "New Star Soccer" games.

I would love to see it, although I don't think you need to go into too much depth in regard to a players off-field life - and player training need only be brief as well.

It would be great to take a player from a low-division team, and eventually be playing in the premier league, and getting call-ups to your national team etc.

To really make the mode good, they would have to include reserves leauges, youth leauges, National youth teams, National team tournaments (qualifying for World Cups/Continental Cups and eventually playing in them).
