I support the idea of Egypt of hosts for 2010. It would help Egypt in many ways. Although this is a very small chance, i hope it happens.

Well then, following the same logic, how about we just have the World Cup in Brasil every for years? We're the best soccer/football country in the world. ;)

I think South Africa has a better chance of hosting, since they were so close to hosting the 2006 WC. But I hope Egypt or Marrocos hosts it, after all their people enjoy Brazilian football. Therefore, Brazil would have many supporters and would feel right at home.

And BTW, the WC generates a lot of income, especially in tourism, which Egypt has a lot of potential. So, it's an investment, they will spend a lot of money, but they will also earn a lot more.

yea you could earn a lot. That is if the country is already pretty much set for the event. I was listening to the radio here and a guy was talking about the idea of Canada hosting a future WC. Being in a well kept country, making profits is far far easier and in higher volumes. However, by the sounds of it, hearing that egypt only has one or two viable stadiums, it would be hard to pull any big profits.

But then again, the WC has never been about making money to the people, but watching the greatest soccer tournament.

If you wanna talk about something that the WC will add to egypt, if egypt wins the bid, is to jump start their soccer/football program with better facilities, not so much the money into the economy.

I support the bid for egypt, as well as anyone else that wants it. However in regards to Egypt's bid.... good luck, you're gonna need it.

My mom has been to Egypt and she said that she did not like it there. That it was to hot and dry, and that there was to much poverty. Maybe they can co-host it with a nearby country.

i am with you that there is some poverty,
but it is not the leading here,
as i said before she must have gone to places which are still out of service or something like that,
but in the end i think that a country of 75 million and the 2nd most civilized country in Africa is a amazing,
by the way we also has 8 stadiums and another 8 are being built in progress,
4 African Cup of nations won (the highest record with cameroon), 2 world cups qualified to, and great history over the youth championships,
please support this by signing the petition which the thread is opened for at www.petitiononline.com/Egyfifa/petition.html :),
and for eagle,
stop attacking Egypt as you think that what happened in the final was attacking nigeria,
egyptian dun hate nigeria but what happened in the final made them angry from the players not from the country,
thank you very much,
keep intouch,

i think that every country in the world facing some kind of poverty,
but they are not the leading,
but if you came to Egypt you will see how a country which has been built in 7000 years is growing bigger and bigger and how it faced 4 wars in a row in the 50s and 60s and 70s and came out of it a leading country in Africa and in the arab world,
and a country which is very near to get over the developing period,
support the bid :),

Um... Sorry, but I can't support your bid for the 2010 World Cup.

US Taxpayers already give Egpyt enough money just so you dont kill your neighbors...

But you have nice hotels and pretty pictures.

Is that why all of your players play in Europe?

I hope no country in Africa gets the World Cup. They can't handle it, and I doubt many people are brave enough to go to Africa. I say just have it in Europe.. it's nice a central for everyone.
