Well, I open this thread to posts screenshots, or simply stories, about some surprising things that FM could do in the game by itself (this means, with no humans playing with a "surprise" team, or signing a huge star with a small team)
Surprising things could be a small team doing an amazing campaign, a relegation battler aiming for the title, a well-known player, who's not searching for retirement (I saw F. De Boer in so many teams like Gimnastic, Gillingham, Alemania Aachen, etc. so, I consider a player of his age as a surprise ) signing for a small or second division team, a team that got relegation but won National Cup (It happened on one of my games, being Racing Santander the "relegated champion"), etc.
Now I'll post an example, I guess
I started a new game with Gimnasia (LP) a few hours ago, with 33 leagues activated, Normal Database, with all Brazilians league are actived.
Also, it's my first game with 5.0.5 (I was studying all this time) and I don't have the Updated Database (I prefer to have an August 2004 DB with all the Argentinian League well than a January 2005 with the Argentinian League screwed)
The game started on July 2004, but leagues like Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, USA, etc. that starts their season on January has some games played before the game starts.
Brazil has his state championships already gone, but we can see their results, unlike Brazil Cup.
Sao Paulo State Championship has 3 groups (in the game, I don't know about state champs IRL) with 7 teams on each group, and as you can imagine, there could be teams from the Second or Third National Division, and of course from lower than that! like Atlético Sorocaba (nice name ) which is the surprising team of today
They must face very difficults rivals on his group, including Guarani, Santos and Palmeiras from First Division, weirdly enough, Sorocaba did not lose against this teams, including a victory 3-1 against Palmeiras, earning the second place, and eliminating Palmeiras from the State Championship (Palmeiras came third, but was the worst third, so... )
Quarter Finals should not be easy, an only game against Sao Paulo, but... 3-0
Semifinals against Corinthians, difficult? well, first game Sorocaba won 4-1!!!! =OOOO, second game they lost 1-2, but who cares (second in the championship, the only game was an 0-3 against Mogi Mirim)
A Fourth (or even lower) National Division will play the final against a First Division Team like Sao Caetano, but the surprise ends here
Sorocaba lose 1-2 in the first leg, and then draw 1-1
I hope Sorocaba earns promotion to Brazilian Third Division, I'd love to manage them
