I have a Geforce fx 6200+ 256mb
amd athlon 3200+ 64bit
2 gb ram
asus k8s-mx M/B

the problem is that whenever i run either Maya or 3ds Max or Fifa or any other application that requires use of some acceleration of graphics , after some time my system restarts and i get the windows mesage-your systemn has recovered from a serious error.
i have tried the following:
1)reinstall graphic drivers
2)format my system
3)work with agp card removed on default 32 mb motherboard card.in this case everything work finei.e. without graphic card.
4)tried working with other agp card llike geforce fx 5700, geforce mx 4200,geforce ti.in this case too i got the same problem of restarts.

the case now is that if my agp card was at fault then my system would work fine with other agp cards, but it doesnt with other too. if there was a problem in motherboard then my system wouldnt work.
i am confused what the problem is, may it be the problem with agp slot or what?

please assist.please as soon as possible cause my pc vendors are c*nts and dont assist. thats the case here in India.

Open your PC and check the Power Supply Unit on how many Watts it provides. Some graphics cards are power hungry.

yeah man....also check if the fan is working properly. Dust and heat can cause it to block, especially in India. Graphics/CPU intensive applications might be causing ur pc to overheat and the system restarts/shuts down.

Get ur motherboard checked by a pro....i know they r hard to find but u live in Mumbai man...show it to someone if nothing works. And invest in a UPS
Hope it helps

Have you checked to see if it's the RAM that is causing it? One day a couple of months ago my machine decided to give me the BSOD after five minutes. It turned out one of my sticks had run its course and needed replacing. Have a look, take one out and see what happens, if no luck, then put it back and take out the next stick. I'd also recommend cleaning the CPU/Mobo fan.

once did that after playing 15 matches without saving on CM0102 (H)

To me it sounds like the PSU, only because i had similar problems like this a while back.

Or it could be your overheated GC or do you overclock anything?
EDit : after reading your post..lol since u tested with some other gc, yeah most probably your psu~
Changed anything recently?
When did the problem start?

heh yea i've done that with CM/FM aswell (H)

the worst was when i was actually "jumping" across my bedroom floor on my swivel chair (floor was covered in clothes so the chair wouldn't move properly) and smashed into my computer, managing to completely short out my PSU and blow the fuse. it was an incredibly scary moment when my computer just completely turned off and wouldn't turn back on :|

Yea sometimes a bad connection of the gold plating of the ram like it being dirty and stuff can cause the system to behave very odd.

Anyway PSU stands for Power Supply Unit.

I was beginning to think that the machine died on him or something. PC's can still be a headache and a pain in the arse at times when something is wrong, even for those who know their computers inside-out. Anyway, glad you got it sorted it out in the end.
