In my opinion, it's nice to have more competitors on PC market. It seems that the PC sports game market now is owned by EA.

Anyway they're still making money with games even if it's not in the top 20...i don't think easports would make pc games if it wasn't really lucrative, they're not losing money, are they ?

BTW it's normal it's the sims that is the best selling games, it's the type of game for people who actually buy game and don't copy them, or those whose goal are to play online like diablo2, why don't these sport editors make their games more online based ? they'll have more customers who'll actually buy their games (well of course if their games are crappy like fifa, you won't go far :p)

Just to get back to Iss-Ps2, after reading all the mixed comments about this game, i picked the game up a few weeks ago at a discount price, $30 Aussie, and then decided to give it a go for a few matches, and found it not to be as bad as some people reckon, it seems to be a game where you can't hammer away at the controls and have to time the ball movement with carefull actions as in Pes. This game isn't quite as solid and 'tight' as Pes and i find that the pitch is a tad too small, but with a little bit of practice and patience you can have some really good matches that do offer more realism than you could ever expect to see in the latest Fifa games. ;)

No, but you might have noticed they've scaled down their PC department. Sure Tiger Woods still has a good PC audience (like Links it will sell well on the PC), but NCAA is now console only, they didn't even bother making an NBA 2002 for the PC (but it's available for the PS2 and X-Box) and even their Madden 2002 was buggy and rushed (they released a patch but only months after release) while the PS2 and X-Box versions were fine.

I'm not saying that PC gaming is dying, far from it - stuff like racing sims, FPS, and RTS games will always be better on PCs, but for team sports games I think the PC doesn't offer developers nearly as much sales as consoles do.

I mean for KCET to bring PES to the PC, they have to spend time and money to convert the code (remember the PS2 is a pain in the butt to program for), then they have to pay again for the FiFPro license (because now the game is for the PC), convert the text to English/French/German etc, then they have to pay to destribute it, advertising and then pray to God it even enters the top 30 in sales. I'm not sure if it's worth it for them - any profits might be marginal.

Hopefully if KCEO's first PC game sells really really well then KCET may jump on board - seeing a sign of life in the market for them. But like you said, for every person on these boards who will actuall BUY KCEO's ISS game there will be 50 people who will copy it. KCEO see the poor sales figures, and KCET stick to the PS2.

Yes, I am a cynical bastard! :D

See? Its not so bad game. Ofcourse being used to PES you'll hardly ever touch it again. But to put it below FIFA is simply blasphemy.

i just wonder KCEO people making the game... so they take a look at here and just before releasing the game they read a lot of criticism! what would they think? :mambo: "nah, those f*cking people don't even deserve this game"... :monkey: :p

Ah yes, but criticism if practical is a good thing and should tell any prospective programmers what we the gamers desire, it doesn't usually work out that way, but at least our cards are on the table, so fingers crossed and if that proposed KCEO conversion does finally hit the Pc on a World Wide release, then we will be able to do a true comparison with the Fifa games, and then wouldn't these forums be running hot.

And in response to some of the other posts in this thread, we the Football gamers are in a niche bracket when you come to think about it and don't really consider the risk <Piracy> and high cost <Budgets> of producing these games which when taken into perspective you can see by the Genres and Game Titles that are posted by Neutral LFC where the main sales gains are to be had, but also saying that, all we ask for are good solid no gimic Football games which at the moment just isn't happening on the Pc. ;)

You can play this game having the Playstation emulator ( ePSXe ),
if you have the game on cd or iso. It's a damn good game, very real, it's worth the work in configurating the emulator.. :)

Cheers

Have you seen what the top 10 best selling PC games of last year were?

1 - The Sims - Electronic Arts
2 - RollerCoaster Tycoon - Infogrames
3 - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Electronic Arts
4 - Diablo II: Lord of Destruction - Vivendi Universal
5 - The Sims: House Party - Electronic Arts
6 - The Sims: Livin' Large - Electronic Arts
7 - The Sims: Hot Date - Electronic Arts
8 - Diablo II - Vivendi Universal
9 - SimTheme Park - Electronic Arts
10 - Age of Empires II: Age of Kings - Microsoft

Look at the top of the console game charts and you'll actually see 'proper' games not 5 Sims titles and a SimTheme park.

Sad, but true.

Actually, I am still amazed that KCEO are even making ISS for the PC since PC games don't sell that well in Japan either.

From where did you get that list?

Well, a couple of years ago, CM was the most sold PC game ever so there is a market for sports games. The EA games always were at the top of the charts when nobody knew about the alternatives...

The piracy may be bad in console market aswell, but not as spread as it is concerning PC games.

Somebodey asked if EA is having problems........ Actually what i have heard the whole gaming industry is having problems cuse of the widely spread downloading/burning of PC games.

Am suprised people even comes with the idea of making pc games these days, specially such as KCEO from Japan where the pc market is very limited.
