Other than them trying to push the American friendly references, I think they did a good job. Way better than Univision. I didn't watch a single game from that channel.

ESPN delivered on the packaging, presentation, and coverage ... Bob Ley is awesome, and finally got to lead the World Cup anchoring, instead of playing second fiddle to guys like Chris Fowler ... Tirico was good too ... Lynsey is a hunchback, but is otherwise sweet ... Julie Foudy sounded decently informed ... the only criticism I had was the commentary of Fernando Palomo and Alejandro Moreno, which was really bad ... I thought Lalas may be intolerable (Landycakes understandably was), buy he wasn't bad at all, and his banter with Ballack was predictable but didn't descend into annoying ... plus if you were a GFOP (or you are now), ESPN's coverage was far better for it ... and lastly the fact that you could watch all of it at work on ESPN3 was the crucial crowning piece for me this time ... their amazing coverage and SportsCenter tie-ins have to take a lot of credit for the solid soccerization of this nation through this World Cup ...

Mmm... If the Benders were fit, then i don't understand their inclusion from the team, but it turned out to be alright for them in the end, and they are the world champions for the next four years.
Also one player that i'm impressed by is Höwedes, the guy can play as a right/left back, while his main position being centre back. He might not be the best full back, but gets the job done. He's the kind of player that any manager would want to have in his team.
And i think, and probably most of the Bayern fans hope, is that Lahm will be played in his natural position as a right back from now on for his club. It really showed when he was moved back to right back after the group stage.

Both Benders were hurt or out of form. Kramer had a break out season. He was decent until that scary incident.

Btw i hope Shifty comes out clean and admits that Kroos vanishes in big games. He was utter garbage today.

I didn't try ESPN3, but doubt it could be that bad. Also the commentary is cringeworthy. It was worse as the tournament wore on.
