Bobby, I tread carefully around your posts, wary of the sarcasm that usually acompanies them. But here, I fail to see any. Firstly, they should have won that game, no question, and if Grahme Poll had any balls, they would have. Secondly, from what little I have seen of him and the way people in this thread talk about Flammini, he cant be considered horrible at all.

That loss I cannot blame on Lampard failing in any capacity. Chelsea, after getting over the jitters of the first two goals, controlled the second half well, and had Robben been able to finish (he looked menacing among your defense) they would have won that game.

The early goal was the teams collective fault, the second goal was their collective fault as well as, in my opinion, the refs. You could see the team was visibly tense playing against a team they had to break a league "curse" against, but it shouldnt have been that way.
Give me a break. Chelsea didn't deserve that game any more than Arsenal did. Chelsea's second goal, the header, was a ridiculous fluke and both teams had their misses. You can say, "what if Robben finished" but Henry also had a would-be goal that he somehow missed near the end. I think I also remember Pires being fouled in the box towards the very end but the ref didn't call a penalty.

"Should have" and "would have" are not the same as "deserved to". That header wasnt a riddiculous fluke, it was down to the inability of Arsenal to defend any type of set piece that night. Yes yes, both teams missed chances, but my point was that the game was by no means the ownage implied. And maybe if Pires hadnt spent half his professional life flying around the pitch at both real and imagined contact, he wouldve gotten that call.

Like both inter and arsenal won the Champs League last year? Sorry, but I had to say it ((H))

lets compare: pires, getting yanked by terry and terry was nowhere near the ball, yet no free kick.
robben, hahaha diving like a fruitcake when senderos was not even close to touching him, and he rolls around crying like a baby because he didnt get the call

maybe u shud watch the game before u comment on it

First things first: the game I was originally referring to was the league game at Highbury in January or whenever it was. Not the Community Shield. I dont know who got that sidetracked in the first place, but if you go back via responses, you'll see what I mean

Secondly, I know Robben dives, as does Cole, Duff (now), Drogba, Guddy, and whoever else. And I too would be equally guilty of hypocracy if I was incensed because they didnt get a penalty their way when they dive like they do. The only diffrerence is that Pires has been doing that for years, and youd have to be the most fanatical of supporter to dispute that fact.

NOW, I'll stop this nonsense, and get back to an Arsenal related subject. What is the status of Campbell with the team? And have the rumors of him being sold to Newcastle, or for that matter, anyone, been put to rest yet?

Nobody on this side claimed there was ownage, you were the one that went out on a limb and said that Chelsea "should have won that game, no question," and your evidence sucked.

God damnit, go back to the first quote, and look for context. It isnt that difficult. By "should have won that game" I meant based on the fact that Arsenal was lacking an experienced midfield versus Lampard and Makalele. Not, NOT, on any postgame reaction. In short, I was declaring there were no excuses on the Chelsea side for not having won. And I was responding to Bobby's quote which was boastful, but not over the line.

Jesus, anyone else who wants to take issue with something Ive said just PM me: im helping to soil every thread with some argument or another.

And we don't have proper wingers either. We've instead got a 3rd and a 4th forward masquerading as wingers.

Yeah, there'd be a point of having wingers when we have no-one to head in their crosses, though.

No f*cking doubt. (H) A central midfielder signed would be perfect.

That maybe would have been half-funny if that had anything to do with Arsenal winning the Premiership. (Y)

Good point. Bobby has pointed this out to me aswell, but we can't abandon altogether a key aspect of the game just because we preceive ourselves as poor and deficient at it. Why hasn't it been addressed and how else will our players improve their aerial skills if they don't hone it through practice and through in game play? The untapped potential of expansive wing-play for us is enormous, man. There aren't many things more distressing and mortifying to the opposing defence than wingers who's main objective is to sprint up one of the wings and just cross the ball.....it's unnerving both to the keeper and his defensemen.....creates a lot of havoc in the box, which is what we need more of.
