We stil have Hleb, Llunberg, Reyes, and now Rosicky. Of course with Reyes it is freaking unknown what his best position is yet. But we have 4 mids.

For forwards we have Henry, Walcott, Adebayor, and Van persie. Bardtner might be pushed up next season as well as he has been very good in the reservers and cup matches.

Of course I think Wenger will wait until after the world cup to make 2 more signings with one of them being a well known player of sum sort. I think it is WAY too early for Henry to be playing the Bergkamp role.

Bobby

The Legend
He's Lupoli's strike partner, they work well together.

He's like Adebayor or Crouch with muscle, tall but doesn't have to play as a target man.

With Walcott, Van Persie, Adebayor, Lupoli, Bendtner, and Reyes I really dont think we need any forwards for next season. Unless of course Le Boss wants to add a world class striker but otherwise I dont see Wenger goin for any more forwards.

Bendtner looks crazy nice plus he got that physique you need in the EPL. I think with a little more speed he can be one of our future strikers.

Yep, I pretty much agree with everything you've said there, Bummy J. I didn't know of him outside of FM, but that ******* compilation (I really hate going goo-goo over a kid from a highlight vid) really impressed me a whole helluva-lot, man. Size combined with great athleticism and awareness. His vision and playmaking ability for a kid his age is just scary, man.

BTW, how bad is Diaby's prognosis? Are we talking something close to a year here, or will he be back in time for the start of the season?

oh dear......:)

from the bbc

Fifa has launched an investigation into whether Arsenal have broken regulations which could leave the club exposed to serious penalties - even expulsion from the Champions League.

Newsnight has learnt that a police investigation in Belgium has concluded that Arsenal made secret payments of £1m to a Belgian football club.

The payments were made to take over Beveren, which has brought dozens of players from the Ivory Coast into Europe.

Arsenal deny making any financial input into Beveren but the BBC has been shown documents by the investigating magistrates, including one signed by David Dein on behalf of Arsenal Football Club PLC.

It was a mystery payment of one million pounds to an obscure Belgian football club in 2001 which sparked off a money-laundering investigation.

A company with no name wanted to invest a million pounds in the club. We thought it rather bizarre
Christian du Four, Investigating Magistrate
The club, Beveren, was in desperate financial straits and they refused to say where the cash had come from.

Fog of secrecy

Christian du Four, the Investigating Magistrate in the Flemish town of Dendermonde, told Newsnight, "A company with no name wanted to invest a million pounds in the club. We thought it rather bizarre."

At the same time the team threw out most of its Belgian players and replaced them with unknowns from an academy in Ivory Coast, West Africa. Belgian police suspected the fog of secrecy was hiding mafia involvement.

Instead after an investigation they have told Newsnight that they found Arsenal's secret hand behind the money.

Arsenal has a public deal with Beveren to play friendly matches and loan players but Arsenal have repeatedly denied that they put money into the club.

Reading from his investigation, Mr Du Four said: "Jean Marc Guillou who is the manager of Beveren has very close contacts with Arsene Wenger the coach of Arsenal and that is why they went ahead with the contract."

Rules breach

He then highlighted one contract signed by Arsenal Vice-Chairman David Dein. The contract (Document B) shows Dein agreeing to advance 12 million Belgian francs (around £200,000) on behalf of Arsenal Football Club in an interest free loan to an associate of his called Raoul de Waele. The loan was to establish a company called Goal which would take over control of Beveren football club.

The loan and other money advanced by Arsenal would be repaid out of Goal's share of transfer profits. Du Four says that in all Arsenal put in £1m.

A director of Beveren, who did not wish to be identified, told Newsnight that in return for the £1m de Waele was given 50% control of Beveren and Guillou was given another 30%.

If Arsenal secretly controlled another club, especially one such as Beveren who they bought Emmanuel Eboue from, they could be in breach of FIFA rules and could be heavily fined or even thrown out of the Champions League.

Wenger comfortable with Gunners squad
Monday June 05 2006

http://www.football365.com/news/story_186671.shtml

Arsene Wenger is no hurry to strengthen his squad following the arrival of Tomas Rosicky - and would be "comfortable" if he failed to make any further signings. "I said recently I would sign one or two high-calibre players and I have already respected my word. One is in," Wenger told the club's official website, www.arsenal.com. "But I give myself time now for the second if it happens because I feel we have plenty of players."

are u joking? the premiership champions bought sheva and ballack, perhaps there will be others, and wenger doesn't want to buy anyone? didn't he promise henry that he will build a team around him? didn't henry stay at arsenal in the hopes that wenger would reinforce the squad and make it a championship winning team again? this is all naive and foolish, and for the sake of the fans that watch this club each week, i hope you all make some more signings or else you can forget about winning the premiership, forget about winning CL, and focus on finishing top 4 in the league.

A Team of Champions will not beat a Champion Team

thats all i can say

what? that logic would make sense if you actually were a threat to chelsea this season. you finished 24 points behind them! you've already lost pires and bergkamp, and you may lost even more as the season progresses. meanwhile, chelsea have bought sheva and ballack, which means they will be even stronger. if you finish 24 points behind a weaker chelsea, and then chelsea reinforce but arsenal doesn't, how in the blue hell can you say that you can compete with them with the same squad? arsenal is no villa or fulham, no disrespect intended, but the fans demand that arsenal be competing for the title. whats the point of starting a season not even giving yourself a chance to win it? thats exactly what arsenal is doing if they don't buy new, experienced players, because a team that decimated you last season is even stronger this season, so it follows that you should reinforce as well.

Last january Arsene told the same thing and we end up buying Walcott, adebayor and diaby, so dont take this statement so serious... Rosicky is a GREAT addition to our team, I expect a Real Madrid kind of crisis on Chelsea. (6) :rockman: :rockman:

My point is that we are building a team, you wont see a Superstar signed by us because we probably couldnt afford them or they will take over a place that one of our youngsters is playing in.

We have a chance of winning the title, in form we are as good as anyone in Europe. The championship is over 38 games alot can happen in a season.

Are you a fan or Arsenal? how do you know what the fans are demanding? The fans of the club have 100% faith in Wenger and what he is trying to achieve at the moment and that doesnt involve signing 28-29 yr old experienced players. Do you think you know more about managing a team than him?

Just because Chelsea were better than everyone last season doesnt mean they are going to do it again, we went unbeaten then we lost games the next, whats with that, no one left the club, how does that work based on your theory it cant happen.

Chelsea may have signed two superstars which is great on paper but who says they arent going to stuff up the balance of the squad, i mean its two more egos that Jose has to keep happy..

Pires and Bergkamp are old and ask any Arsenal fan passed the used by date. Yes they added experience but nothing more in Pires case he was holding back the development of younger players such as Reyes, Van Persie, Helb

The only thing Pires did last season was tackle Vieira
