^^^^You should've mentioned that it's the BETA version that was released:
http://www.google.com/chrome?platform=linux

That's the same BETA version that was supposed to, if I remember correctly, be released in June!!! Terrible really.....I honestly thought that they had given up on it....I had completely lost interest.

As with the Windows version, I won't be trying it until the stable version is released and that could be another 6-8 months away.

When we talk about the best browser, its difficult to suggest one among the vast browsers. Internet Explorer has its own features, firefox is best for adons, Chrome is best for its fast browsing speed. I use different browsers for different purposes.

Youth, IE is just terrible, for about seven actual governments to suggest you DON'T use it, it must be bad.

Firefox all the way.

Since when has France and Germany been leading within IT-technology? I'm too used with the IE so I don't really get the pros with Firefox :S Find some things to be confusing... Well, I've been having IE ever since I got Internet and I've never had any problems with it, so I ain't changing.

FireFox for me at the moment but when Chrome Extensions really take off I might switch camps! I just don't like the way Chrome opens a new process with each tab (check your task manager!)

I think chrome is the lightest and fastest. But can't compete with the add ons and functionality of Firefox. I actually have both installed, and use both. Chrome for general browsing, firefox for downloading (linkification and IDM integration are musts for me)

For downloading, I've never had problems with Google Chrome. I use it more than any other browser. In terms of Download speed, I've actually found Chrome to be as fast as Firefox.

For add-ons though, it is all Firefox. I use 2 addons - AdBlock and DownloadHelper(for YouTube videos) - and they're great! Chrome doesn't stand a chance.
