The best way to sum up FIFA 2004

I think this quote from the Official PS2 magazine review of PES3 sums it all up.

"First things first... this ain't FIFA. Shingo Takatsuka and his luminous team at Konami Tokyo would never dream of releasing a token update with slightly prettier graphics. Or even worse, just throwing everything at the game in the hope that one new feature might hit the back of the net. These guys care."

I agree 100%

fifa still isn't fluid and smooth enough in terms of gameplay.

the most of the animations in the video (latest one from soccergamez.nl) look recycled from fifa 2003, apart from the new conservative tackle and the shots look fine, but... it still doesnt look right.

i can't put my finger on it though.

still a marked improvement over fifa 2003, for sure though.

I don't think FIFA 2004 will be better then PES3...I just hope it's an excellent game of football. If NOT then EA have really gone and messed up this time, especially now that PES3 is coming to the PC in November.

I can't wait for that!! :rockman:

Dont get me wrong i like PES..I just love having all the official Teams, Players, Kits,Stadiums etc...I dont think Fifa's gameplay is as bad as everyone makes it out to be

the master league is probably the most innovative comeptition/league/feature to be implemented in a footie game.

even more improved upon in pes 3.

Bring it on!

I can't wait for PES3 (and FIFA 2004)! At last, EA's strangle-hold on PC football has been removed. Maybe next year they'll stick it to Konami! Who knows.

Competition is invariably a good thing!

Either way, November is going to be a BIG month for PC football gamers!!!!!!

It leaves me with a problem though- there are only so many hours in the day! Should I play my: NHL 2004; PES3; or FIFA 2004?! A welcome 'headache' in November for me...

career mode and good gameplay can keep FIFA alive... only that and.... official kits, adboards........ license helps alot but gameplay is important!

I think your propaganda about FIFA 2004 will put loads of people off...

Can't wait for next Friday to come soon enough cos that's when PES3 will be released, and football gaming fans with a bit of nous will buy that and leave FIFA on the shelf, no matter what EA have done.

And as for that quote...

No wonder I buy the official PS2 magazine cos they don't talk bullshit, unlike someone else on there

I want to laugh about JJ's comments and other WE fans. They are so hypnotized and blind, that no matter how good any other game is, they don't give a d@@mn about them...

So ridiculous...

I'll play both games, and I think FIFA will be better than PES this year, maybe not on gameplay (they'll be close), but because I can do everything else on fifa, online play, football fusion, real licenses, more teams (play with Corinthians, right tinytim?), and many other things that PES takes for granted.

If FIFA's videos look this good, the in-game videos as compared to WE7, I doubt the gameplay will suck. But I'll still play WE/PES, but only in FEB. 04. By then, I might not even want it anymore, who knows... let's wait until FIFA comes out.

Yes, Corinthians forever...let's hope we'll get 3 points today, agains São Caetano...

as u said, I think that FIFA won't be considered good for one specific feature, but for the whole bunch of things...let's see...

I don't think that WE fans are blind to other good games, it's just that FIFA isn't a good game. Oh, and the new FIFA demo is out, and the gameplay appears to suck (shock!). You must be feeling a bit of a fool about now.:funny:
