Arsenal, Swansea...hmmm. I would imagine that the Arsenal board would sack the manager if they lost the title. Have they been winning anything in Europe?


Here is an update on my IFK Goteborg Game. We won are 7th straight premier league title. We won 5 Swedish Cups. Been to the Champions League Semi Finals the last too years only to lose to Schalke and Real Madrid both who went on to win the title.

Oh an Tsigalko was a 7.5 million unprotected pick up who has scored:
100 goals in 83 career game for us.
63 goals in 46 league games
10 goals in 6 Cups games
27 goals in 31 CL games.

He pretty much is the offense.

Doesn't matter. I've decided to call it quits. I've taken the team as far as I can. Now I can concentrate on Nigeria.

My budget was non-existent after this season so there was no chance of me expanding what's now become a poor squad.

Hmm.... I wasn't out of the job for long and grabbed a spot at Blackburn. Just promoted from the Second Division and they look to be bouncing back.

One thing slightly puzzles me, though.....

£110m.

That's how much the club has. A first Division Club. Sure, they've had some impressive transfers over the last 10 years but still...

Wha' da fug!? Naturally, I spend £5m on getting van der Gun and Suefert to follow me from Swansea. Thusly giving my former club some long-awaited cash. Should I have went for Samba? Possibly not. The lad went to Blackburn early on and it almost killed his career. Plus I can't be bothered to fork out £11m for him.

Still, £110m (now £105m)

I'm into 2006 with Racing Santander at present. I've won the League and Champions league this season but was beaten in the Spanish Cup final by bloody Real Madrid. The cup final was played 3 days after the CL final which made me 'not very happy'**

I've also discovered a good tip: Put just about every top class player on your shortlist whether you can afford them or not. That way the minute their contracts hit the 'six months left' point you are alerted and can sign rather than buy. The amount of Bosman's I've picked up is incredible. I've only bought 1 player in three years and the clubs getting very rich from me selling the ones who don't perform. 50 million pounds in the transfer kitty at present.

Freebies for this season (about to start): van der Vaart, Mexes, Schone (top notch german regen) and Casa (who was valued at 10million which was turned down a month earlier when I bid for him (haha suckers!).

Blackburn and their money pile are hitting the Premiership. Mido's coming along too. Selling all the crap youngsters and using my money to build a world class squad.

Won the African Nations' Cup once more with Nigeria. No contest, really.

Just finished my season with IFK Goteborg. Sold Djordic to Rosenborg for 11.5 million dollars. We went 25-1-0 so undefeated in league. Tsigalko scored 66 goals in 44 games for us overall. We won the treble for the first time. We won the league by 23 points, the Swedish Cup, and for the first time the Champions League on penalties versus Club Brugge. Mark Kerr was the hero as he leveled the game in the 81st minute after we were down 1-0 early on. Then Paul Robinson came up huge saving two penalties. Starting lineup was this:

Thanks, that team is in 2009/2010, so some of the guys are at the point of retirement. But the starters except Nedved are all still younger then 30. I also had Forsberg and Kallstrom but they wanted to go to bigger squads so 30 million later they were in England and haven't won a thing in Europe. The title also came after 2 straight years of being knocked out in the semifinals.

As for the team, I've had won that won the Champions League 4 times but that was in 20 years with Union Berlin. But it is a good squad but I think(actually pretty sure) that I've seen better squads on the boards before.

The hardest thing is NOT buying all of those players every game. I always buy a few as I can't help myself.

And the youth system is finally kicking in. Antonio Carboni was spotted by one of my scouts and he looks solid. Scored one in pre-season and netted in a recent cup game. Crap in the reservers, though. Kevin Wilson just came up from the youths and played well in his debut. But this Christer Abelsen looks like a real find. Bought the 16 year-old from Valerenga on advice from my scout. Scored twice in pre-season.

Same here, but I don't usually opt for the usual names. Well, I always start at lower league level. I always seem to opt for van der Gun and van der Meyde because Ajax always seems to reject them. Carl Laurie, Pilmark, Szmid and Martins are also usual buys.

By the time I end up at the top, all the quality players at the beginning are tied up at other clubs or so poor that better options are available.

You seem spoilt for choice after a few years. Still can't beleive I've bought an entire new team in the space of two years, mind. I don't usually buy unless I need too but last season was a case of shifting the dead wood (i.e. sh*t youngsters that will never amount to anything) and most of them were in my midfield. Hence, I bought an entirely new midfield with B Internationals. Seems to be working, too.

Yeah, the youngsters can be a let-down at times. My off season spending this season was a massive 220K Four Bosmans and a 19 year old Kraut...um...I mean German person. I got about 19 million pounds worth of players for that thanks to the good Judge Bosman.

I dunno what it is but German's follow me round a lot. Seufert's found a way back into the side as a support man.
