Does it really exist?

I personally think most of you that claim it does, are talking complete bollocks. Maybe it's just you trying to find sum reason why you can't win?

Sometimes the players you control may feel slightly "restricted" at times, but you can't honestly think you can have complete freedom over the players, if thats the case then none of the animations would ever click and the game would be terrible. This is why, in my opinion, Super-Cancel is a genius creation.

There will be people who cheat, no doubt about it.

I always quit a game when the lag is freaking unbearable, and especially when it seems the opponent clearly has an advantage, what is the point in playing on when you can hardly pass the fecking ball about ?

It is just not enjoyable and lame, and when you get a situation like that you will lose more games than you will win.

Are people cheating when this happens ?
Some will be, but some won't.

We can only hope konami have improved the online mode, but somehow I doubt if they have.

Ah am not on about human cheats, i'm on about when people on forums claim the AI on the computer apparently 'cheats'.

NO..the Computer does not cheat...it just reacts to the way you play... :ewan:

Say you have just scored, then it will start to attack harder just after you score to try and get a quick goal back while you are vunerable. It will react to different situations in different ways and it will do it with strength to give you a challenging game....thats what is so fantastic about Pro Eolution soccer it evolves. :jambo:

it does cheat, it knows which way you are gonna turn before your player actually turns, coz it knows what u are pressing on the D-pad

I also believe the Playstation reads my thoughts.

Once I was going to press 'quit.' Before I had a chance, a message flashed up saying...

Going somewhere Dave?

Needless to say, I'm not trusting WE on 6 stars ever again.

I don't think it "cheats". I do notice however, that the way to make the CPU play better is to have less realistic things happen to you.

All of a sudden no bounce goes to your players, your passes have no energy or direction and you can't win a 50/50 ball to save your life.

The thing that bugs me sometimes is that instead of making the AI better so as to have them do a more realistic set of moves to beat you, it just makes your team players do unbelievably stupid things or miss passes they were cutting out all game. That could be realistic as you could say that RL players also make mistakes. I just find it funny that it mostly happens when you are tied or ahead by 1 late in the match.

yeah sometimes it feels like ur havin the most frustratin game of ur life where u cant score,pass,shoot,dribble....guess it depends on ur previous results (in ML atleast) the ai decides to have that terrible game for u :(

It seems scripted but its random i guess...."scripted randomness" ;)

Every rebound starts going towards the cpu player. The cpu can have 1 attacker and every time there is a loose ball in midfield the ball will go directly towards the cpu striker player, while your players will stand there or even worse run away from the ball.

There is surely a bug:

At the end of injury time if u have a clear opportunity the game makes the ball going somewhereelse, like there was a superpower deflecting it. It happens when u try to score half a second before it whislte. It happened to me (pro and against) thousands times-

yeah lol at that Aarfy, it does make me laugh when people get this ridiculously
childish idea in their head that the game is alive and it actually wants to beat
them that badly that it will bend the very matrix of the game to get it's way.

maybe it's time some people started differientiatng between games and
the real world??

Yes the CPU I think does cheat. My players suddenly play like a bunch of retards and suddenly his go and start playing amazingly!

I don't agree with you there. I think that the game is programmed to be competitive so that the CPU can challenge you and you don't win every match like in certain other football games. Unfortunately, the way to program that is to make the CPU play better at times, while your players play crap. I don't mind it as it is more challenging when you don't win every tournament and league, but it can be frustrating at times, just like it is for a RL manager when his squad puts in a bad performance.

oh yeah i agree with that dont get me wrong, i mean if the cpu had no
'desire' to win then we'd win every game 13-0 right? the point i was trying
to make is some people just seem like they have it in their heads that the
game wants to 'screw' them all the time, whereas its just putting up a fight
in its own way, there are things we can do as human players that no
computer in the world can do, so are we 'cheating'??

Anyway, I have obviously learned that limitation over the years. Of course we must realize that no matter how good it gets, it's never going to follow all of your thought patterns and desires. Otherwise what would be the point of playing. Sometimes it goes your way, other times it doesn't. I've had plenty of goals that I've scored where if it had happened to me, I probably would have said it was CPU cheating, so I've pretty much learned that you live with it and do your best.

That's not to say it's not frustrating, but hey, if I won all the time I would have already erased the game from my computer. How else can you explain a game which you could conceivably keep playing for 2 years and not get bored (at least for me, as I'm not a PES god or anything). No other game has had this kind of durability for me except Baldur's Gate 2. I played WE8i for a looooong time until I could finally get ahold of WE9 and I'll say that I never got bored or found it too easy.

uh huh, i've been accepting the limmitations of all cpu games for years now,
as with pes or other football or indeed any kind of game, it's always
ruckloads more fun if you play it with another person anyway - i just
live along way from all of my freinds so i can't do that that often now

Yeah, play with a friend is much better imo. Then you can allways have that free player to pass the ball to.
And people wonders why you shout like a bastard if you play PES on alone. A friend, who I live with, look strange at me when I play, cause he doesn't understand the feeling when a simple pass just go directly to the cpu, when the fcking player has a WHOLE field to play on.
So, it might cheat, but what would a simple game be? Simple and boring...

That is correct. Play with a friend is always different and better.
