The end of another generation in NT's

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
After I calmed down after Italy's elimination, I realized that Italy will do fine. Italians consistently play well at the youth level, so it's up to the Serie A coaches to develop the talent that Italy produces and get them ready for the senior national team. That means top clubs giving youngsters a shot in the first team and letting them make mistakes instead of yanking them at the first sign of trouble.

And Xifio, you could have included Federico Macheda, even tho I don't think he'll be that good. :innocent_smile_1:

100% agreed! currently, calcio has got a lot of brave and adventurous managers, so that will not be the problem ... it'll be minimizing the impatience/meddling of the presidents/directors that could be the area of concern ... but I am very optimistic, with a lot of attacking managers with innovative ideas in the league, and with Prandelli at the national helm ... there are 4 full years to blood the new crop, and a EURO half way through to test their competitive progress ... plenty of reason for optimism ...

I thought of him, actually ... but I felt he has been more of a lucky goalscorer than a prolific talent ... but he has time, so I'll add him to the list ...

I thought of Rodrigo Possebon too, but he hasn't progressed as much as I would have expected ...

why do you compare cacau, ozil, boateng with arteta? They're born in germany and you already have dozens of non ethnic english players. Ashley Cole, Heskey, Shaun Right Philips, Defoe, Ferdinand and the list can go on till tomorrow

You're misinformed. Cacau is born in Brazil.

Your stupid small minded comments, again.

What's there ethnicity got to do with anything. For one most of those players mentioned have lived in the UK for generations, not to mention them being multiracial. One thing they all have in common, they were all born and raised in the UK.

You should educate newbie if wrong not leave your own derogatory comment to England's multiracial players.

I think you should kick that selfish bastard Ronaldo out, build a whole new team with young and hungry players like Cointreao, or whatever his name is :)

That discussion is useless. You go back far enough, NO english could call himself english, as no german could call himself german. And who decides someone to be a "native" after 1 or 3 generations? Come on. Only dumb people argue about something like that.

I'm not too worried, we also have Nani, Varela, Ruben Micael and Bosingwa who couldn't play this WC. We probably would have beaten Spain, really.

That's not quite true... all of the "True" Anglo-Saxons can call themselves German (H)

Yeah I can't help but think how valuable Nani would have been in the WC. IMO he can easily replace Ronaldo on the wing and the team wouldn't suffer for it in the least..

Cristiano Ronaldo: "It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby's mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. No further information will be provided on this subject and I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are."

I must admit that I despise diving and asshole conduct, and despite all of that I will elevate talent above everything I hate. I remember the first time I saw Ronaldo when he was "the Beckham replacement" and I was hooked immediately. I just knew he was special. I kind of felt the same way when I watched Nani against Bayern in the Champions League. The kid just has "it". Holland has been denying Robben for awhile because of his attitude, and even when they accommodate him it has been "this is where the hole is in the squad, so you play there". Now that they're playing him at right wing it's just like something has clicked in the squad. He's a total prick, even I'll admit that (and I have a picture of him as my background), but he's a superstar and you need to accommodate him. Nani is on that level, and what makes it lucky for Portugal is that Ronaldo is arguably better as a Central Forward. They need not take up each other's space. It doesn't fit with tradition, but you need to squeeze them both into the side in order to win.
