Am i the only one who thinks Lampard was completely anonymous in the game today, i wouldnt know who to replace him with because im not even sure what hes actually doing

Pop Lampard on the bench, pop Gerrard back in the central attacking role, and pop Lennon out on the right would be my solution.

Well Pop Gerrard wherever and he's been immense. I don't think McClaren would have the balls. but the system right now seems great - it only needs Lampard to recapture his form and its would be top class.

Personally im still not convinced about Lennon, his got startling pace but his crosses are a bit iffy - a bit like Downing a year ago. Give him some time before he gets a starting place

It was at some times at walking pace i swear, anyway i agree on the gerrard lampard thing gerard should start inplace of him.

Lennon looked really good as well and put in a great ball for Crouchy's goal.

I sure as hell don't. Had they been fair play out there, yeah sure. But their antics just made me want to see them get thrashed even more. I wish the bunch of pansies could have let in a few more.

I hope Rooney gets a goal, he needs one badly to boost his performances again.

I'm hoping Carrick will put in a good performance, competition for defensive midfield would be good and will keep Hargreaves on his toes to step up another gear when he returns.

Wright-Phillips is a pacey winger who is capable of doing great things for England. Problem is he lacks game fitness due to the fact that he plays for Chelsea. Ever since he was bought from City, he hasn't had the chance to showcase his speed and touch.
When he starts to feature more, you will see what this kid has to offer.

In The Mirror there's possible talks of a 3-5-2 with Wright-Phillips and Ash Cole as the full-backs (Gaz, Rio and Terry as CBs) as another option to the 4-4-4-2. Lennon is injured

Saw it coming unfortunetly, is anyone else having trouble getting motivated about England now a days? It feels like half of the players are just over priced over rated twats who don't know what it means when they pull on that England shirt.

i stil dont know why they hired steve as manager, they should of known he was going to play the same as sven, it was him making all the decisions after all.

Rooney and Crouch don't seem to be able to work together. Rooney needs pace upfront with him, and Crouch isn't going to provide it. I think that Parker should step in for the next game. Whether that means taking Lampard or Carrick out. Downing...well, he shouldn't even be in the squad. Wright-Phillips or Lennon should come in ahead of him.

England lacked a certain spark yesterday. We were all too predictable.

I feel the same frustration. Downing is NOT good enough to be an international player yet. Neither is Crouch, his goals always come against very poor opposition. It's just a shame we have a couple of injuries upfront because Ashton would do a good job and AJ would have been involved yesterday if it weren't for injuries.

Parallels can't be drawn with Sven at this stage though. The main problem yesterday was that the final ball wasn't there and we caught Macedonia on a good day. Their 3 central defenders had a great game. Another problem was the lack of willingness of England players to run at Macedonia. The only time we did so was when SWP came on the pitch.

Football is a funny old game, i wouldn't be surprised if we get a win in Croatia when really it should be the other way, i.e. beat Macedonia and draw in Croatia.

i was at the U21 game yesterday. and they were really bad. it was awful! the only good thing was when walcott came on in the 75th min and scored two great goals!
but all we did was give the ball away. carson got the ball and pumped it upfield top a german! that happned every time. it was really poor. did anyone else see it?
