On idea, the country which has invented football and long time had no equal on all planet

You're joking, right? As I said earlier the first international was played in 1870. The first great team was Queens Park from Glasgow who routinely kicked the **** out of English clubs. The British Home Championship was the first big International Competition and Scotland won the first 4. No equal on the planet my ******* ass, England hasn't been "without equals" since Rugby was still considered football. Even your solitary World Cup victory was in Extra Time at home, so I wouldn't say that's evidence of unequaled greatness.

wow, Djourou sucks major balls ... it was panic stations for England after the second goal, but luckily the Arse Djourou was on hand to offer up some charitable defending to the country he works in ...

Senderos sucks too, of course ... the Swiss have a talented generation coming through, so it's a bit surprising that these two are the central defensive pair ... where, for example, is François Affolter?

in attacking play, I was expecting a little more from Shaqiri; he didn't threaten enough ... Inler was virtually flawless, which is always good to see as a calcio fan ...

England and their performance hardly surprised me ... the second goal was pretty sweet though ...
since I posted this, the Swiss youngsters have gone on to vindicate my conviction by reaching the EURO U21 final ... good on them ... shame the England match came too soon for some of these youngsters to have stepped up into the senior starting XI ...

Three stars – for victories on the Olympic tournaments.
Either you are a wind-up merchant or extremely ignorant, or worse still, a non-English person who jumped on the England football team bandwagon in any of the last few World Cups and regard England and the UK as being the same thing (uninformed overseas people, please take note, the UK is made up of FOUR nations).

Get your facts right, England have never competed in the Olympic Games in football or just about any sport for that matter. Great Britain won the gold medals 1900, 1904 and 1912, and before you try to say that the squad who won were completely comprised of English players, they were representing Great Britain in the competition, not England. If your logic was adopted, then Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland would be entitled to wear three stars on their respective badges.

And as for the other two stars, don't make me laugh. They are about as on par with the "Tournoi" competition that you won in 1997, i.e. a meaningless international tournament. Going by your flawed logic, you could say Scotland may as well add a few Kirin Cup stars, and Wales may as well add the Dustbin 5-a-side Shield Winners star too. And don't get me started on this BOA/FA/BBC-brokered "Team GB" football team nonsense doing the rounds in the news right now either. Most football fans in the home nations don't want it, not even England fans.

Didn't they already come to an agreement that it would only be England youth players at the 2012 Olympics?

EDIT: Heck with those Olympic gold also counting for GB and Ireland even the Republic could claim some stars. :S

Perhaps simply merchant? :)
And that - new shirts with 6 stars, other production... $$$$$$$ :bob:

As to modular Great Britain... The Most similar example - victories of the USSR on the Olympic Games & 1st EURO. Who "successor"? Russia.
Even Ukraine doesn't apply for these regalia(!)

Analogies are clear? :biggrinx:

P.S. World Cup in Mexico (U-17). England - Argentina. Ooops!

We played a decent match and I think the result was well deserved.

I like new Capello's philosophy that national players should not necessarily be from top teams. Cahill and Parker played very well. I like Cahil and Parker style, very sold and effective.

Smalling debut was a decent one as well.

Rooney's playing like two years ago. I hope he can keep this level throughout the season for United and England. I hope that ankle injury doesn't affect his performance at Euro. He was flawless today and played very well with other lads especially Young and Wallcott. Rooney-Young partnership is going to be a good one for United and England.

Btw, there should be some qualification round before this for 2 reasons:

1) avoid weak teams like San Marino to play at this stage
Netherlands 11 - San Marino 0 (San Marino is just good for setting records)

2) European football season is very long, having fewer teams in each group will reduce games and increase the quality.

Walcott sucks, and there are sufficient fast England wingers not to need him, or to use him as an impact sub.

you think that way? I think that fellow played OK if not well.

Yes, he has no footballing brain. The amount of times he is shown down the line and running into cul de sacs makes me want to throw my TV out of the window.

He also has zero technique, or makes very little use of it.
I always believed he should be played down the middle as a striker because of his pace. He's not intelligent enough to be in midfield.

Adam Johnson will hopefully get enough games at City so that he can be in form for England.

I really rate Aaron Lennon. He is something different in the English side too, and a Walcott style player (just better). Lennon's only issue is he has to learn when to pass.

Yeah Adam Johnson should take his career more seriously. The guy has serious talent.

I agree with both of you, Adam is one of the most talented player in England right now and his talent is being wasted in Man Citeh. I hope he moves to another club where he can play regular football ASAP. His style reminds me of young Giggs.

Oh and tits.
He could be of great use in the Euros. He should at the very least try and a get a loan to a smaller club who have a progressive coach and would give him opportunities.

I don't think so, their squad has more depth compared to last year. Even Tevez find it hard to play for first team.

Tevez isn't being benched because he's not good enough, he's benched because he doesn't want to be at the club and is trying to force a transfer.
