Both, Newkies & Pool are typical 'fourth place' teams in the premiership at the moment, so either of them would deserve it. :)
Pool have been boring at times this season, so im rooting for Newcastle.

As SG's "Token Villa Fan", never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that the Villa would be _one_ point away from a Champions League spot with 2 to play. If we pick up all six of our remaining points and our rivals slip up, it will truly be a testament to the management skills of David O'Leary.

As for the issue of squad size, it is one that sorely needs to be rectified. Over the past couple of years, our youth programme has done consistently well, even winning the FA Youth Cup against an Everton side that had Wayne Rooney. But the youth needs to be supplemented by expierenced (sic) pros that have achieved success at a high level. The problem is that Doug Ellis is like Mr. Crabs from SpongeBob SquarePants: obsessed with money, but doesn't want to part with it. I'm sorry, but if we are going to have any sucess in Europe, we need to splash the cash.

no offence.. purely comments.. hope u understand...

No offence but if Liverpool was so scary fantastic shouldn't they still be in the UEFA Cup? Well maybe this year was just a practice for your guys run in the UEFA Cup next season.

The problem with Newcastle hasn't been injuries it has been our incredibly poor road record. As long as we can get some points in our away fixtures we should be okay.

Can't be arsed to hope anymore this season. i'll just sit back and take in whatever nufc throws at us in the last 3 games.

EPL
4. Liverpool ------- 56pts --- 36pl. --- +15
5. Aston Villa ------ 56pts --- 37pl. --- +6
6. Newcastle ------ 53pts --- 35pl. --- +12
7. Bolton ----------- 53pts --- 37pl. --- -6

With Liverpool's win against Birmingham, Newcastle need 3 wins to get to CL, or 2 wins and a draw if they beat Liverpool in the last matchday... it'll be interesting...

Its Liverpools. Fair bit of pressure on Newcastle now who need to win their next 2 matches heading into the Anfield tie to have any chance one feels.

Newcastle needs some experienced heads in that dressing room. All we really have in terms of experienced players are Shearer and Speed.

I can see us scraping a win tommorow but i can't see us picking up more than 2 points from Southampton and Liverpool.

I think ShearerM4 has the best way to tackle it, take every game as it comes and prepare for the worst.
