The Euro 2004 Mania so far ::

I ve mix feeling on the tournament so far....confused by the blip by the supposed galacticos (barring Zidane), even ZZ not at his best due to aging... (Owen, Henry, Totti, Raul, Beckham, Figo, Vieri, Del Pierro, Trezeguet, Ballack..if combine all the goals scored by all these hyped superstar, not even close to Rooney's 4 goals)

Of course, I was excited by Rooney and Ronaldo.
These 2 perform exceptionally well so far... They rellay enlightend the tournament

and disappointed by the Italian... by a complicated table standing

Now I feared the Dutch exit... All the matches are so tight..I do lost count on how many mispredictions on the results..

The mania really creeping on me. ...... ...

In all honesty, if holland, Sweden or Czechs win i wouldnt mind.

Id die if France won, for obvious reasons

If England wins, ill be pretty shocked

Germany and Denmark wont win

If Portugal wins, WOW, not to mention you guys, but my friends, ill lose every argument about soccer, until an italian team wins CL.

All they have to say "Speaking of Portugal winning euros" and than ill be put in my place.

Well it already can't compare to Euro 2000. That was a great tournament with great highscoring games, great goals, and best of all having all the European superpowers playing eachother in the latter stages including the amazing comeback final.

I feel this tournament has been okay. Not to many quality games though. And there are to many great teams going out in the group stages for the likes of Greece and now most likely ze Germans.

At first having teams like South Korea, Turkey in the world cup and monaco and Porto making it in the CL was fun seeing those underdogs beat great teams but I am now just sick of seeing teams like Monaco and Porto play a final in the CL compared to having teams like Arsenal and Real Madrid playing eachother or in this Euro having Germany, Greece, and Denmark(good team but not great) in the quarters instead of Spain, Italy, and Holland. I know some of you think they played **** most of the tournament so they don't deserve a place in the quarters but just watch most of the Spain vs. Greece, Italy vs. Sweden (first half), and Holland vs. Chech and you can see that when they play quality football it is amazing and fun to watch.

I mean the underdogs thing is getting a little frusterating especially since you can't really call any team an underdog any more.

yeah, underdogs are becoming a bore (except for Latvia, a cool underdog for once ). I'm quite satisfied with the tournament so far, 2 out of my 3 favourite teams, Portugal, France and Italy (almost cant go wrong with these :P), made it. I want a Portugal - France final, then i dont care who wins, plus i want great games by Figo and Zidane.

exactly Latvia is the one true underdog at this tournament, Greece aren't underdogs they are just an ok team that either has luck or play a better game than say portugal or spain for one or two games. Watch them easily go out against France in a game only exciting by seeing France score beautiful goals.


I mean some of you just cheer for all the worse teams so you can be happy at seeing teams like Italy and Holland fail.

would all of you who are supporting a team like say Portugal be happy to watch the Euros and feel it was a great tournament if the tournaments latter stages were

yeah im getting sick of this underdog(for obvious reasons), i just want a tournament where the best teams play as the best and prove why they are the best teams. i want to see italy-czech, denmark-holland, england-portugal, spain-france. but obviously that didnt happen so whatever

for me the life of the tournament has been sucked away, ill watch but it wont be the same

and the venues are by far way better than in euro2000.

Well, I think it's a good tournament and it's starting to warm up nicely with the most attarctive teams making the quarter-finals (except Italy, but they deserved to go out for not finishing off Sweden when they had them on the ropes).

I prefer the Euro-Championship to the World Cup as it is a better size of tournament - 16 teams rather than 32 is better. The World Cup drags on too long and has too many poor teams who don't deserve to be playing in a tournament of the world's "best" teams.

italy, spain, france, holland are disappointed me. they can't show their class. france look struggle, italy are lack in score goal and unlucky, holland defeat against czech are stupid.

greece, czech, sweeden, england are play very well. just pity have tactically wrong against france. greece team spirit are appreciate. czech are so dreadful every match even a reserved team.

star players like owen, totti, vieri, rui costa, pauleta, desaiily, silvestre, del piero, kuranyi, raul, torres have poor performance

some players like ronaldo, rooney, baros, nistelrooy, robben, larsson, tomasson, figo, deco, cech, buffon show their class in this tournament. playing extremely well.

coach like dick advocaat have poor tactics against czech, voeller can't guide germany through even draw with latvia and lose to czech B-team. trap for italy also have tactically wrong in sweeden match allow sweeden control the tempo in second half, santini also wrong when france vs croatia. greece, england, czech coach are doing very well.

I don't understand people who say Greece played well. They played 100% defensive and hope to score lucky goals on counter attack. You really like to watch this boring football? For me, I'd rather watch paint dry.

It is always good to have some new teams get into the latter stages of a tournament but if Greece decide to play their usual 10-0-0 formation against France, I hope they lose 10-0. However, if they go out and try to win the game by committing to attack, then good luck to them.

greece and sweden imho will be the easier opponents in the QF. greece plays defensive football, and it was mainly luck that they advanced, and sweden just got overhyped after the win on Bulgaria, they are mediocre.

Group D was most exciting. The Czech's comeback in all three games and winning all thr, that's pure class.

Hats off to the Czechs. (But they're still going to get beat by Denmark )
