The good old soccergames...

Well short and quickly some things i want to say:

First of all:
It's a shame what happened to Sensible Soccer.
Sensible World Of Soccer was definitely the most fun-to-play soccer game i ever played. :(

And things that i miss in nowadays' soccer simulations:

- Career Mode. Like SWOS had it. Not too much managing, just transferring players, increasing their value, playing...
Is it sooo difficult to implement in a state-of-the-art 3D-game?

- "Fixed/Dedicated Player". You select one player of your team, and you always play that one. For example, you choose to play Beckham, and you play Beckham, and nobody else during the whole game. You have to interact with your AI-teammates.
And to my mind that's the only situation where more than 1 person can play in the same team.
Just imagine 4 people each playing one dedicated player. Wouldn't that be great fun?

Maybe these are features that some actual soccer game offers, but i don't know them all. ;-)

Yeah SWOS is the most fun soccer game to play i still play it reguarly because of its amazing gameplay and its amout of options which include Career Mode which is great, but sadly SWOS isnt being made anymore which is a shame because if it was EA would maybe see what the amazing features in SWOS and maybe inculde some in FIFA to improve it

SWOS = The best ever soccer game made :)

Did you know...

... that SWOS wasn't developed on PC, it was another platform, and the game was also converted to PC.

yes i know, i've been playing SWOS on the Amiga for years. And still kept playing it on the PC. (Harddisk rules! :D )

But conversion or not, i just love that kind of gameplay. Without superior 3D-graphics-animations, just one fire-button and still the most fun soccergame to play.

Shouldn't EA Sports also take concern about this?

I've played nearly all the FIFAs, from the beginning (1994), and i must say that none of the FIFA games could keep me playing on and on and on like SWOS could.

Yes... the Amiga. I have an A1200 but its keyboard and floppy drive is not functioning at all, and here, there's no place where I could buy new. I liked it, in the "early 90s" :) games were much better on Amiga than on PC. I didn't have SWOS personally, but I had another called Manchester United - and that game had more functions than these FIFA as wll. OK I just wanted to say that I like old games too. :p
